An aerial photograph of the version of █████ City, ███████ Prefecture, Japan in SCP-065-JP

Item #: SCP-065-JP

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The Ikawa residence, where SCP-065-JP is located, has been designated Site-81██ and civilian entry is restricted. In addition, guards are to be stationed outside the version of the Ikawa residence within SCP-065-JP to prevent people from SCP-065-JP from entering baseline reality. Investigations into SCP-065-JP, especially the civilization and system of governance of Japan within SCP-065-JP prior to its decline, are currently underway in cooperation with the Foundation of SCP-065-JP.

Investigation into ████ Ikawa and related information is currently underway.

Description: SCP-065-JP is an alternate dimension accessible through a door on the second floor of a house in █████ Ward, Tokyo. The house in which SCP-065-JP was discovered was inhabited by ████ Ikawa and his family, and prior to the discovery of the anomaly the door had led to ████ Ikawa's room. The door opens into a corridor within an equivalent house in SCP-065-JP.

SCP-065-JP mostly resembles baseline reality; it has been determined that besides the fact that no corresponding version of Ikawa was born within SCP-065-JP and that SCP-065-JP appears to be 3 years and █ months ahead of baseline reality, up until the birth of Ikawa in 200█ SCP-065-JP followed the same course of history as baseline reality. Currently, the majority of differences between SCP-065-JP and baseline reality are within Japan.

The main difference between Japan within SCP-065-JP and Japan in baseline reality is that the entire nation within SCP-065-JP has been devastated and is now ruled by a dictatorship installed by the United States. Public facilities within SCP-065-JP's Japan appears to have been constructed in a haphazard, unplanned manner, causing slums to form around them. In addition, the ruins of leisure facilities, such as theme parks and amusement parks, can be commonly seen. Although the Foundation in SCP-065-JP was aware of the state of Japan, it did not see this as abnormal until the baseline Foundation intervened and established containment.

From investigations within SCP-065-JP, the prime minister of Japan within SCP-065-JP prior to its downfall was Ikawa, who is conjectured to have been transferred into SCP-065-JP from baseline reality for an unknown reason. Ikawa was reported missing in 20██, and has been confirmed to have died in SCP-065-JP, at ███████ Station, in ███████ Ward, Tokyo.1

Addendum 1: The following is an interview with a civilian within SCP-065-JP.

Interviewer: Dr. Stiles

Note: Stiles had presented himself as a British journalist to the subject before recording.

<Begin Recording.>

Interviewer: I apologize for the inconvenience.

Subject: It's fine. It's not like I have anything to do anyway.

Interviewer: Thank you. Can you tell me about what happened when Prime Minister Ikawa took office?

Subject: You mean how everyone felt and public opinion of him, yes?

Interviewer: Yes.

Subject: Give me a bit. [brief silence] If I were to say it, there was no real backlash. Everyone just laughed it off at first. We thought it was nothing but a joke. But there was no payoff to the joke, not after a week, or even a month. Although the existence of such a prime minister was a joke, everything he said was a joke too. You'd know, right?

Interviewer: Yes, even those who wouldn't care about politics knew it was a joke.

Subject: But, um, my children were very happy, or should I say my children, "too"? Soon enough the entire country had become a theme park, and then the budget ran out.

Interviewer: I've seen how Japan has become through various sources before, but now I can see it's really just become one big amusement park. Um, if you know anyone who was close to Prime Minister Ikawa, I'd like to get in touch.

Subject: Unfortunately I don't. Besides, everyone in the cabinet is gone now.
