An example of a rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Item #: SCP-1783-JP

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1783-JP is to be stored in a ship storage warehouse at the port owned by the Foundation. Investigation of SCP-1783-JP is prohibited by the director of the site that contains the object in question.

Description: SCP-1783-JP is a ship with a large number of Leporidae crammed inside. There are at least ██0,000 rabbits within SCP-1783-JP, and the weight of the rabbits alone is estimated to be as much as ██0,000t, but measurements taken while towing SCP-1783-JP indicate that the total weight is about 90,000t. It is assumed that the weight of the ship itself accounts for 95% of the weight, and that SCP-1783-JP is experiencing some sort of mass anomaly. SCP-1783-JP is overcrowded with rabbits in every openings including doors, windows, chimneys, and vents. The rabbits can be removed, but it has been observed that the weight of SCP-1783-JP does not change no matter how many rabbits are removed, and the density of the rabbits remains almost unchanged. The rabbits are immortal and do not replenish or excrete while they are present within SCP-1783-JP. The rabbits do sleep, but it is assumed that this is not out of necessity, but as part of their life cycle. The rabbits removed from SCP-1783-JP lose their anomalous property, and begin their normal metabolism. These rabbits can be processed into meat, which are generally well received by the personnel who have tasted them.

An example of a rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Attempts to remove the rabbits from SCP-1783-JP and gain space have been largely unsuccessful, but it is possible to get inside SCP-1783-JP by pushing the rabbits away. The inside of SCP-1783-JP is very hot and humid due to the body heat and exhalation of the rabbits, and any exploration activities by the personnel risk causing serious heat stroke. As a result of the search by the snake type drone, it was confirmed that the only place within SCP-1783-JP that was not packed with rabbits was inside the gas turbine. However, the fuel pipe connected to the gas turbine is packed with rabbits, so if the SCP-1783-JP gas turbine tries to operate, it is assumed that SCP-1783-JP would either be unable to generate power or be powered by incinerating rabbits.

D-1882: What the hell is this?

Dr. Mandela: Private conversations are not allowed. Please begin the exploration.

D-1882: Exploring… in these rabbits?

Dr. Mandela: Please push them away and break in.

D-1882: I hope they don't bite… wow… this is… more difficult than I thought…

Dr. Mandela: Please proceed to the back.

D-1882: I'm trying, but it's hot… and very humid! There's also a strange smell. The rabbits are soft and fluffy, but there's a disgusting smell.

Dr. Mandela: Please proceed.

D-1882: What the hell, damn it… it's all rabbits. Rabbits are everywhere! I can reach out and touch the wall, but everything in front of me and between my legs is rabbits!

Dr. Mandela: Please keep going to the back.

D-1882: Shit.

Dr. Mandela: Please refrain from private conversations.

[The sounds of dragging shoes, rustling of clothes, and ragged breathing continues for about 8 minutes]

D-1882: Oh.

Dr. Mandela: Did you find something?

D-1882: I got to the other door. Can I leave now? It's so hot in here…

Dr. Mandela: Please stand by. What about the observation team? Are they ready? Yes, D-1882, you may proceed to exit.

[D-1882 exits the door. In doing so, 6 rabbits are pushed out of SCP-1783-JP]

D-1882: Oh, this, rabbit…

Dr. Mandela: We'll recover them. Please stand by.

Experiment Log 1783-JP-1~5:
#1 Subject: A rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Upkeep according to standard small animal containment protocol.

Result: Has the same metabolism as normal rabbits.
#2 Subject: A rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Return to SCP-1783-JP.

Result: Has the same metabolism as normal rabbits. Turns out that once detached from SCP-1783-JP, it wouldn't regain its anomalous property.
#3 Subject: A rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Incinerate.

Result: Charred as normal.
#4 Subject: Rabbits within SCP-1783-JP

Method: Incinerate.

Result: Charred or suffered burns as normal. Immediately afterwards, other rabbits started moving to the front one after another, and the dead or injured rabbits were pushed back. No dead or injured rabbits were found in subsequent explorations.
#5 Subject: A rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Drain the blood, cut out the meat, and cook.

Result: The stew was made. D-1882 commented that the meat was tender and extremely tasty. No health problems were observed.

Exploration Log 1783-JP-2:

<Begin Log>

D-1882: This again.

Dr. Mandela: Private conversations are not allowed. Please begin the exploration.

D-1882: It's hotter in here than you can imagine… and the rabbits are still crammed in here…

Dr. Mandela: Please push them away and break in.

D-1882: I get it… it's not bad that they're fluffy, but there's still something that smells funny…

Dr. Mandela: Please proceed to the back.

D-1882: Yeah… but if I keep going straight, I'll just end up at the other door again, right?

Dr. Mandela: Please continue proceeding.

D-1882: Well, ok then… look, see?

[D-1882 arrives at the other door. While exiting the door, 8 rabbits are pushed out of SCP-1783-JP]

Experiment Log 1783-JP-18~38 (excerpt):
#18 Subject: A rabbit bone recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Create a skeletal specimen.

Result: Non-anomalous skeletal specimen was made.
#21 Subject: A rabbit recovered from SCP-1783-JP

Method: Upkeep within the living area of D-1882

Result: Grew like a normal rabbit.
#25 Subject: Rabbit being upkeeped within the living area of D-1882.

Method: Continue to upkeep.

Result: Continued to grow like a normal rabbit. Named "King" by D-1882.
#31 Subject: Rabbit being upkeeped within the living area of D-1882 (King)

Method: Taught tricks by D-1882. (paw, spinning on the spot, rolling a spool, etc.)

Result: Was unable to learn any of the tricks. D-1882 continues to train.
#38 Subject: 200 rabbits recovered from SCP-1783-JP.

Method: Pack the rabbits in an acrylic container and adjust the rabbit density to the same level as in SCP-1783-JP.

Result: Several rabbits were injured or fell ill due to stress and hygiene issues. (all incinerated)
