Item #: SCP-ES-165
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the public nature of SCP-ES-165, the cover story that it is an abnormally large extinct volcano due to the absence of plate tectonics on Mars will be maintained. Mars landings on future exploration missions by space agencies behind the Veil should be discouraged, citing the presence of dust storms that would hinder such an operation. Observations of "lights and flashes" by astronomers from the ground and by space probes will be claimed to be caused by the appearance of "orographic clouds" making SCP-ES-165 visible.
The Mars Orbital Station (MOS) Timor, under DEINEX management, will remain in geostationary orbit 2,000 kilometers above the Martian surface hovering over SCP-ES-165. The station will be staffed by the Mobile Task Force Alpha-16 "Mars Attacks" and support personnel to maintain station operations and logistics. MTF Alpha-16 members destined to be deployed to the surface of SCP-ES-165 must be capable of lucid dreaming. For advice on improving self-control during dreaming request assistance from the MOS Director, Prof. C. Moretti.
Entry to sites containing SCP-ES-165-1 instances may only be done with Class-3 personal protective equipment with additional resistance against acid and extraterrestrial pathogens. The opening of gaps to access SCP-ES-165-1 must be performed by autonomous mechanical drills. Personnel should not remain for a period of time longer than 80 minutes in SCP-ES-165-1 under risk of being affected by the effects of SCP-ES-165-2. Personnel unable to leave the surface of the planet should be considered missing in action.
Personnel affected by SCP-ES-165-2 should be extracted from the surface with priority and transferred to humanoid containment cells aboard the MOS Timor. Such personnel should receive Class B amnestics before they enter the advanced stages of cognitive-motor degeneration. At the request of the Ethics Committee, subjects beyond this stage will be euthanized.
Future exploration and colonization missions to the Martian surface will be conducted at sites approved and tested in accordance with SCP-ES-165-3 testimonials.
Exploration to other geological sites on the planet Mars are pending approval in accordance with Department of Investigation and Extraterrestrial Exploration (DEINEX) directives.
SCP-ES-165-3 must remain in a containment tank in the Delta laboratory aboard MOS Timor. A bed and sleep-inducing substances are available for interviews in the vicinity of the containment tank. Two guards equipped with non-lethal weaponry and medical support personnel must be present during all interviews.
View of SCP-ES-165 from MOS Timor. 2019.
Description: SCP-ES-165 is a shield volcano located in the northern hemisphere of the planet Mars, colloquially called Olympus Mons. SCP-ES-165 has an altitude of approximately 21-23 kilometers above the surface of Mars. The base of SCP-ES-165 measures approximately 600 kilometers in diameter and has a surface area of approximately 230,000 square kilometers.
SCP-ES-165-1 corresponds to the remains of biological organisms with variable sizes ranging from 100 to 900 meters in length. The shape of the organisms is variable, being predominantly quadrupeds, hexapods and others of vermiform shape. The most voluminous specimens are found in the oldest regions of SCP-ES-165, corresponding to sediments originating 800 to 1000 million years ago, buried under layers of kilometers of sediment and solidified lava, while specimens with heights less than 200 meters are found buried in sediments estimated to be 100 million years old at depths less than 150 meters from the Martian surface.
SCP-ES-165-2 refers to an extremely virulent memetic agent found on the surface of SCP-ES-165. Affected subjects present with typical symptoms of psionic intrusion, including nausea, transient global amnesia, intrusion of memories, synesthesia, phantom limb syndrome, thanatophobia, nihilistic thoughts and extreme fear of returning to the surface of SCP-ES-165 or to the Martian surface. Another effect is the gradual cognitive-motor degeneration of the subjects causing the gradual decrease of motor and neurological functions, until finally causing death due to cardiac and respiratory rhythm disorders.
The application of B-Class amnestics are able to eliminate the effects of SCP-ES-165-2 in the early stages of the condition.
The maximum safe threshold for SCP-ES-165 is approximately 80 minutes, after which the subject develops symptoms related to SCP-ES-165-2.
Additionally, personnel who remain on the SCP-ES-165 surface, regardless of whether they are affected by SCP-ES-165-2, manifest recurrent dreams involving insect-like and sauropsid-like organisms. In such dreams, in approximately 80% of cases, subjects remain witness to attacks by such organisms on cities and ecosystems described "of alien design" before they are destroyed by the efforts of such civilizations or by cataclysmic phenomena such as colossal volcanic eruptions or meteor showers. In 20% of the cases the subjects are in the point of view of one of the instances.
Lucid dreamers are able to explore the environment where the dreams occur and can be eyewitnesses in more detail to the efforts of civilizations against the organisms and even actively participate in combat against them. If the subjects affected by the recurring dreams manage to defeat these organisms, the dreams will cease to manifest until they again go to the surface of SCP-ES-165, and the design of these organisms will not be repeated in the following dreams.
SCP-ES-165-3 is a 45-50 cm long vermiform organism of grayish and smooth texture. It has characteristics of extremophile organisms, similar to terrestrial tardigrades. SCP-ES-165-3 does not appear to require any sustenance, remaining inactive except when a subject sleeps in the vicinity of its holding tank, acquiring behavior similar to terrestrial annelids. SCP-ES-165-3 currently remains in a containment tank in the Delta laboratory aboard MOS Timor in an environment that emulates the Martian surface.
SCP-ES-165 came to the Foundation's attention in December 1951 after several amateur astronomers reported the presence of "flickering lights" in the Nyx Olympica region. Through a campaign of misinformation, the phenomenon was attributed to the presence of possible volcanic activity on the planet or to climatic conditions on the planet. After these events, no new anomalies were produced, ruling out the event as meteorological events on the planet.
SCP-ES-165 came to the Foundation's attention again in 1972 after the NASA Mariner 9 Mission tracking team reported anomalies detected by the spectrometers aboard the spacecraft while flying over Olympus Mons, detecting peaks of infrared and ultraviolet radiation coming from the central caldera of SCP-ES-165, 30 kilometers in diameter, as well as malfunctions of some instruments. Agents infiltrating NASA were involved in persuading the administration to deactivate the Mariner 9 probe in October 1972. Unofficially, Mariner 9 remained operational under Foundation control until 1992 when it was replaced by more modern satellites specially equipped with anomalous element sensors. During the years that Mariner 9 remained operational, it detected bursts of infrared and ultraviolet radiation coming from the region of SCP-ES-165 calderas.

Foundation satellites and probes, equipped with the most up-to-date sensors and cameras, detected abnormally high Akiva levels similar to [REDACTED] as well as the presence of craters with anomalous characteristics. In order to facilitate more detailed observation of the phenomena at SCP-ES-165, as well as to serve as, among other purposes, a communications relay for deep space missions and as a resupply point for other missions in the solar system, the O5 Council approved on 21 March 2007, the construction of the Mars Orbital Station (EOM) Timor under the management of the Department of Investigation and Extraterrestrial Exploration (DEINEX). The station was completed on September 17, 2017 and is fully operational as of February 2018.
Once operational and through the use of the experimental technology of the Telesensor for Visible Life Spectrum (TESVVLS) the presence of residual traces of EVV was detected at numerous sites on the surface of SCP-ES-165 with a significant presence in the region of the calderas of SCP-ES-165. In October 2018, Mars landing preparations are initiated with 4 specialists forming the provisional MTF Alpha-66 "Martians".
Through the use of a [REDACTED] high resolution camera on board of MOS Timor, the presence of 110,000 ± 11,000 SCP-ES-165-1 instances was determined.
Crater 496-b corresponding to the location of instance SCP-ES-165-1-496. According to [REDACTED] sensor measurements the specimen would measure between 800 to 900 meters in length.
According to the analysis of the biological sample obtained by the 2018 expedition it was determined that SCP-ES-165-1 instances are in full decomposition process despite the fact that the age of the sediments would exceed 100 million years old.
On October 22, 2018, Provisional MTF Alpha-66 begins the first deployment mission to the surface of SCP-ES-165. The team consists of Captain D. Brown, Agent A. Escobar, Dr. K. Musashi and researcher R. Reed. The team began separation from the EOM module at 0800 Pacific Time.
Begin log
Brown: Okay, this is Alpha-66 team preparing to descend to the surface of SCP-ES-165 in T minus 30 seconds.
Control: Acknowledged. Team initiate transmission diagnostics.
Escobar: This is Escobar, stand by.
Musashi: Musashi, reporting.
Reed: Researcher Reed, reporting.
Brown: Brown. Operations diagnostic positive. Ready for unanchoring.
(Static and gaseous decompression sound)
Control: Stable signal. Brown, go forward with the operation.
Brown: Received. Initiating de-anchoring in three, two, one….
(static sound)
Brown: Signal stable, activating main thrusters. Oxygen levels stable.
Musashi: SCP-ES-165 in sight, control. Adjusting landing coordinates to designated point with accuracy of less than ten meters.
Brown: Atmospheric entry in three minutes. Preparing for entry shortly.
Control: Roger. Radio silence until something noteworthy is reported.
Brown: Roger. Over.
[Extraneous data omitted]
Faint alarm sound in addition to the breathing of Bravo module members. A faint sound like a low moaning is heard.
Reed: Structural integrity of heat shield 97%. Physical parameters within acceptable
Musashi: Cooling system at the limit. Temperature increase of 2 degrees and rising.
Brown: We are receiving a foreign audio signal, sounds like… groaning or some low pitched sound. Is Control receiving it?
Control: Affirmative. Your module is acting as a signal repeater. Can you determine the origin, Bravo?
Escobar: Trilateration in progress… the origin of the signal is an area close to the central caldera… I detect a second, much fainter signal… an S.O.S. signal … Soviet?
Control: Checking signal. Record coordinates and continue descent to scheduled landing point.
Brown: Roger. Continuing with scheduled descent.
[Extraneous data omitted]
Sound of a loud bang coming from outside the module. The module is more than 20,000 meters above the landing point.
Reed: What was that?
Brown: Looks like something hit us, vibrated the ship. Damage report?
Musashi: Sensors report no damage. It's strange, the atmospheric pressure is only a fraction of Earth's for the winds to throw rocks at us.
Brown: Control, are there any sandstorms in the vicinity?
Control: Negative. There are isolated storms in the southern hemisphere of the planet. There should be no storms at the descent site in the next few days.
Brown: …Received.
A new thump sound is coming from outside the module with a lower intensity than the previous one.
Escobar: Fuck….
[Extraneous data omitted].
Propellant sounds are heard low, plus a low bass sound.
Musashi: Okay team. Prepare to feel the pull of inertia. Landing at T minus three…two…one….
Thruster sounds intensify followed by a sharp thump sound.
Control: Alpha-66 team status report.
Brown: Systems stable and operational. Initiating variable measurement. It is cold…
Musashi: Temperature drop of minus ten degrees from what was expected. Maybe the radiators got screwed up with the drop. All good by the way?
Reed: In cold weather… Motion sensors detect nothing, thermal sensors nothing, VLS levels…
Brown: VSL levels, Reed?
Reed: Traces of VSL all over the surface, the entire surface of SCP-ES-165 responds positively to the sensor, as do the Akiva levels. Perhaps the sensor is broken?
Musashi: We'll see when we're there. Okay, Reed, Escobar, let's go to the bay to prepare the equipment for descent….
Unknown: Mushashi…
Musashi: Did you call me Captain?
Brown: No, I didn't call you. I was looking at the sensors and doing a quick diagnostic. What do you need?
Musashi: Control, did you hear that too?
Control: Affirmative. We thought it was Captain Brown. Team, can confirm it was not Captain Brown?
Reed: Affirmative. That wasn't the captain.
Escobar: Affirmative. The captain is next to me and he didn't say a word.
Brown: Ok… Control, request modification of deployment team. Agent Reed to remain in bay and Musashi and Escobar to descend to the surface of SCP-ES-165.
Control: (pause) Roger Brown. Proceed as deemed necessary… (static sound)
Brown: Control? Do you copy? Control? Over
Control: (heavy static)
Brown: Fuck, we're alone in this…
[Extraneous data omitted]
The sound of wind is heard in addition to a low bass sound with a metallic tone.
Musashi: Okay… it's quite a bit colder here… there's a thin layer of dust all over the surface, so we won't leave a trace like on the Moon. You hear that right?
Escobar: Maybe this whole mountain acts like a gigantic organ…
Musashi: Yeah, maybe… then we'll get philosophical, Escobar. Let's take some soil samples. Bring the drill.
Mechanical equipment set-up sounds followed by noise of crushing rocks and running the drill. As drilling continues, the low ambient sound intensifies.
Scobar: I don't like this….
Musashi: The hardness of the rock is… similar to granite. We've only gone five meters.
[Extraneous data omitted]
Musashi: The density of the rock has changed significantly… the drill is vibrating too fast… I will lower the revolutions…
Escobar: Getting ready to take a sample… extracting probe…
Sound of decompressed gas followed by a viscous sound. A series of vociferous wailing sounds are heard.
Mushashi: Oh my….
Escobar: I'm out of here!
Musashi: Wait Escobar…
Escobar: Incoherent shouting. All communication with Escobar is cut off.
Brown: Escobar? Brown? Damn. Reed, determine the status of both.
Reed: Yes captain…
[Extraneous data omitted]
Reed: This is Reed retrieving Musashi and Escobar… it sure is cold.
Brown: Brown: Initiating systems for takeoff. I'm not picking up Escobar's biometrics. Musashi's I'm barely picking them up, Reed. You are 75 meters north of your position.
Reed: Roger. Musashi? Escobar? Do you copy?
Unknown: Help…
Musashi: Intelligible cries…
Reed: Escobar? Is that you? We didn't detect you… follow my voice…
Unknown 2: It's cold…
Unknown 3: Why…?
Brown: Reed, forget about Escobar. Go get Musashi…
Reed: Y-yeah…
Prolonged, low-pitched screaming sounds can be heard in the environment increasing in intensity as specialist Reed advances towards Musashi's last position
Musashi: this place… this place… (heavy static sound)
Brown: Negative. Your priority is to get Musashi back.
Reed: Sir, the sample is ready to be extracted… …
Brown: Retrieve Musashi!
Sound of machinery followed by another of a slimy nature.
Reed: I recovered the sample. I'll look for Musashi right away. It seems to be some kind of slime… or something like it…
Unknown : Hilf Mir
Musashi: H-help…
Reed: Musahi… let me help you….
Violent decompression sound in the distance followed by a low sound of a metallic nature from an undiscernible source. A series of intelligible "chanting" is additionally heard
Brown: Fuck, Escobar…
Reed: Let's get out of here Musashi!
[Extraneous data omitted]
Brown: Thrusters at T-minus thirty seconds. In position Reed?
Reed: In position Captain. Systems ready.
Brown: Musashi? Ready to go?
Musashi: It's cursed… It's cursed…
Reed: He must be affected by something.
Brown: Agent Escobar considered as M.I.A. Preparing to go in nine, eight, seven…
Unknown: Ready captain
Brown: What? Ah, fuck the countdown… let's get out of here.
Control: (Slight static) Is Alpha-66 receiving us? Over.
Brown: This is Bravo. Returning to station. Requesting an urgent medical team. We have a casualty and an M.I.A. Agent Escobar, we lost her. Once we get there we'll explain what happened. Over.
End log.
Dr. Musashi arrived with early sings of frostbite in his fingers and toes, as well as early psychomotor degeneration. Researcher Reed and Captain Brown showed signs of elevated stress and were quarantined in separate containment cells.
The material recovered from the drill probe corresponded to the remains of biological material with the presence of microorganisms analogous to bacteria degrading organic matter. The organism that yielded the material is carbon-based.
Musashi's mental state began to gradually degrade, repeating the phrase Kaiju Sarcophagus. 48 after her return to the orbital station, Researcher Reed experienced recurrent dreams and nightmares that kept her awake. Through the use of psicotropics and hypnosis therapy, MOS Timur psychologist Dr. Peter Lamia proposed to "restore" Dr. Musashi's mind to a previous state of trauma.
ACCESS ADDENDUM -SCP-EN-165-1- .
EIGHTH INTERVIEW BETWEEN DR. PETER LAMIA AND MR. K. MUSASHI
DATE: 11/30/2018
Interviewer: Dr. Peter Lamia
Interviewee: Mr. Ken Musashi
Notes: During the previous sessions, Dr. Lamia proceeded through rationalization and analysis to restore Dr. K. Musashi's mind to a more stable state in order to question him in detail about his experience. The interview takes place in a humanoid containment cell in the medical ward of MOS Timor.
[BEGIN INTERVIEW]
Dr. Lamia: Good morning Musashi, how are you feeling today?
Dr. Musashi: Dr. Lamia. I woke up better today. Thanks to the medicine I'm sleeping better that's for sure, however the tremors haven't stopped, besides I think I have phantom limb syndrome. I feel other limbs missing.
Dr. Lamia: The recovery process can take years. The progress we made in these weeks is quite big, you can sleep better, the voices are gone…
Dr. Musashi: They are not gone doctor, they are still there. I'm just high enough that I don't understand what they're saying.
Dr. Lamia: I… I see. Do you feel well enough to talk about what happened in SCP-ES-165?
Dr. Musashi: (remains silent for about thirty seconds) I feel like I'm going to die doctor. I feel like my mind won't take this. It's like an itch one can't scratch. And if it's not my mind it will be my heart.
Dr. Lamia: Until the last resort is exhausted we will do our best to make you well again.
Dr. Musashi: Yes, of course…
Dr. Lamia: When I entered the station, you kept repeating the phrase… (sound of flipping through papers) Kaiju Sarcophagus. Does it have any meaning to you?
Dr. Musashi: You know that Japanese is a poetic language. That a certain word can have different meanings depending on the context. When I came back… they brought me here, it was an idea that they put it in me, forced it into my head… That mountain, that's its name, its meaning…
Dr. Lamia: I see. According to this idea that they put in, what are these Kaiju? Are they like Godzilla or the Hy-Brasil Damage?
Dr. Musashi: No, doctor. These are much worse. The Kaiju we imagined destroyed buildings, razed cities to the ground and were stopped by soldiers or giant robots. These… things, which are buried in that mountain, are far more numerous and more dangerous in life. Imagine snakes or eels that are kilometers long. Beasts hundreds of meters high releasing so much heat that they would melt lead.
Dr. Lamia: So, this mountain would be a kind of necropolis for giant monsters? What makes you say that?
Dr. Musashi: You could try to see difference in the radiation emitted by the [REDACTED] sensor. We have one of those cameras on board the device…
Dr. Lamia: I… I see… I'll inform the station director of this. Anything else you want to say?
Dr. Musashi: Yes, these… beasts, these things. They are furious. Even if they've been dead for tens or hundreds of millions of years they still have hatred. Hatred against all living things, especially fragile and small creatures like us…
Dr. Lamia: How do you know…
Dr. Musashi: I JUST KNOW! SOMETHING RAPED MY MIND AND PUT THESE THINGS IN MY HEAD! They chose this world as their graveyard because it was already dying, just like their race. With tiny oceans and volcanoes spitting ash. This dead world, it has anger and rancor. A grudge that has existed since the Proterozoic…
Dr. Lamia: I think you're getting upset, we can leave it for another session…
Dr. Musashi: No… this is too much Lamia. Awake, I hear that dead world whispering horrible… things to me. In my sleep I have visions of wars, hunts and other things these things did, how they destroyed worlds and took their war to entire star systems and…
Dr. Lamia: Enough Musashi. Nurse, administer painkillers to the patient. End of record.
12 hours after the search Dr. Musashi committed suicide by smashing his head against the wall of his containment cell. Dr. Lamia and his team were admonished for failing to ensure Dr. Musashi's safety.
At Dr. Lamia's request, Agent Reed proceeded to record her dreams after she determined a possible anomalous cause. Below is a summary with noteworthy entries.
10-30-2018
A group of "beetle lizards" charging against a wall of light lances in the vacuum of space. The creatures fight against smaller objects until there are no more spears of light.
11-01-2018
A lizard-like creature with chitinous plates advances over a forested world illuminated by a red sun. The creature merely devours trees and sinks into a lagoon or ocean. An astronaut-like figure floats a kilometer above the creature.
11-05-2018
A rabbit-like creature with a white beard of planetary proportions moves stars with the movements of its head. Then legions of mile-long vermiform creatures appear from the void of space moving as if in water. The rabbit throws one of the smaller stars at them, destroying most of the creatures, and the survivors flee in disarray. The figure of the astronaut also appears to flee, moving his arms in a disorderly fashion. Researcher Reed notes that the color of the cosmos is a golden-pinkish hue.
11-12-2018
From an oceanic world with turquoise seas and yellowish clouds emerges a figure of an astronaut. The design of his suit corresponds to that of Agent Escobar. She watches the sky a yellowish sun without doing anything else.
11-20-2018
A creature that looks like the hybrid between a moth and a lizard flies in the skies of an ecumenopolis. The creature destroys several buildings with its wings that show no damage. The figure of the astronaut is observing Researcher Reed at all times.
12-02-2018
A battle of cataclysmic proportions takes place in a star system. Planets are thrown against each other and several lances of light shoot at a dark mass that occupies a portion of the sky. The mass turns the once golden-pink cosmos into the characteristic black color. Watch several colossal creatures hurl themselves against amorphous masses that emerge from the main dark mass. Finally the cosmos turns black highlighting the glow of a bluish star. The fighting continues but gradually subsides. One of the colossal lizard-turtle-scorpion-like creatures flees the battle carrying several rabbits of different sizes on its back and back. Those on its tail shoot backwards as if covering its retreat. When she finishes she finds herself in Escobar's suit but in her visor she sees vermiform creatures moving around, saying "hello" before Researcher Reed wakes up.
After Researcher Reed abruptly awakens on 12-02-2018, Delta Lab technicians reported the presence of a vermiform organism in the sample recovered by the Alpha-66 team, labeled as SCP-ES-165-3. This organism was not previously found in the sample and it was theorized that it developed from the extracted sample. After tests to determine the habitability threshold, it was placed in a tank with samples of Martian soil and a concentration of gases emulating the composition and pressure of the Martian atmosphere.
Subsequent dreams of Researcher Reed determined that the figure of Escobar in her dreams is an attempt of communication on the part of SCP-ES-165-3. On 01-05-2020 an interview was authorized by Researcher Reed and SCP-ES-165-3.
The following transcript is a summary of the interview made according to the details provided by Researcher Reed. Subsequent interviews with other personnel corroborated the information detailed below. As stated by Reed SCP-ES-165-3 manifests as Agent Escobar's suit with her visor completely black.
Begin interview
R. Reed: Hello, can you understand me?
SCP-ES-165-3: The offspring of the germ of the third world has finally seen us and listened to us. The offspring of the germ of the third world is able to dream like the great ancients.
R. Reed: Who are you? Why do you look like Escobar?
SCP-ES-165-3: We are those who feed on the flesh of those who are no more, we are the inhabitants of the chambers of putrefaction, we are the heirs of their rage and the witnesses of their former greatness.
R. Reed: So… Are you a hive mind?
SCP-ES-165-3: We are one. We remember everything. We are everything.
R. Reed: I… I see. How can you understand me?
SCP-ES-165-3: We assimilated Escobar and broke into Musashi's mind. Though we have no mouth we can talk, though we have no eyes we can see you. So that you can talk to us we chose this form as avatar. Seeing all of our selves could have done to you what we did to Musashi…
R. Reed: Are you the bastards who attacked us? Why should we listen to you? What would stop us from throwing you into the void?
SCP-ES-165-3: (Remains silent for a few seconds) They invaded the resting place of the glorious ancients. Their spirits are not friendly to invaders. Escobar's flesh was available, but the taste is equal to that of the third world germ. It is not palatable to us because of that. We are the witnesses of the First Great War of the universe.
R. Reed: And what do you have to tell us? What were those images I saw in my dreams?
SCP-ES-165-3: The… dreams, are the memories of the ancients, their flesh feeds us and teaches us their epics. Intertwined by blending the cadaveric ichors and bones into one, like Us. The tomb, the crypt you visited was one of the oldest. What we want to tell you is… prepare yourselves.
R. Reed: Prepare for what?
SCP-ES-165-3: Our purulent bile can feel it. The darkness. The one our allies warned us about and the ones we fought and fell with, wants to reassemble. To put its pieces back together. To bite, tear and shatter. We can also feel the Vidnepas in that insignificant third world, they may win this time.
R. Reed: And how should we prepare?
SCP-ES-165-3: Search for the oldest tombs in this graveyard world. The Great Ancients were sealed away with their legendary weapons with them. You are unable to use those weapons because of your pathetic and frail forms. But the abominations, unable to dream and sleep, which allow you to travel between worlds, can use them. You as their masters will surely teach them.
R. Reed: Ok… I think I'll wake up shortly, is there anything else you wish to tell me?
SCP-ES-165-3: Yes, the Old Ones are proud beings. They conquered and razed worlds only for the greatness of their even more glorious ancestors. Easy to provoke but they knew how to recognize the strongest and respected them. That is why they accepted to ally themselves with the Vidnepas. They can take what they need but do not stay too long. They will not bear that insignificant ones like the germ's offspring dwell in their graveyard world…. Though there are places that even the Ancients forgot existed…. Now awake, daughter of the microbes. Remember the words of Us.
End log.
ADDENDUM SCP-ES-165-A: In October 2021, through the analysis of the Foundation's Martian Polar orbiting satellites, spectral readings similar to SCP-ES-165 were determined in other Martian geological formations, such as Ceraunius Tholus, Uranius Tholus and Jovis Tholus. Exploration missions are expected to begin in 2025 to determine the presence of artifacts and remains present at the sites.
