In The Night
Cloudy night murky moonlight
Gunshots haunt his dream these times
Corner it stood, draws no breath
Stare at the man, wait it tends.
Everything suddenly froze
A young poet was typing
Eyes stared behind, with none known.
Gunshots haunt his dream these times
Corner it stood, draws no breath
Stare at the man, wait it tends.
Blinking light in empty hall
Night-shift nurse sipping her tea
Hiding shadows on white walls
Now stenched a dirty yellow.
The door, white walls, all in black
Blend in the night by this light
Eighteen smiles, merged together
Still can’t compare with just one.
War made Europe a huge mess
The houses, the streets, devastated
The tale of a young soldier
With memories, blurred away.
Everything suddenly froze
A young poet was typing
Eyes stared behind, with none known.
