Carroll 305: Little Havana

map

All known entrances to Little Havana.

where IT IS

As you can see from the map included in this Carroll, this one can be accessed from multiple locations. It looks quite like Chester's workshop, in that it's bigger on the inside than on the outside. Anyway, you can get in through a ton of places, God knows how many others are out there.

As far as we're concerned, the "official" entrance is just northwest of Miami, next to the railroad tracks. You can walk into the train coordinator's office. Don't worry about the guards or anything, we're the owners.

WHO KNOWS ABOUT IT

Inside the Spirit, only the Rum Runners and our rail front in Florida know.

Outside of Spirit, that's a difficult question. There are no natives, but from time to time some poor people from Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and even Jamaica come to the shores of Little Havana. Most of them don't speak English, and those who do are often too scared to talk to us, so they mostly don't meddle in our affairs.

However, some of the more enterprising have set up stores that offer services to our children. It's not such a bad deal, and since they've been there a few years and everyone knows everyone, we have no reason to think they are spies.

HOW WE FOUND IT

As far as we know, this place has always been here.

We first encountered it when one of our Rum Runners teams was caught in a hurricane off the coast of the Bahamas and were lucky enough to find themselves in a pocket dimension. But they were not alone. There were a good number of Cuban ex-patriots, and they were not very happy with the new government on their island.

Socialists. We killed them all.

Since the children liked the name "Little Havana," we left it as a tribute to them and settled in, eventually finding various ways to get out and draw a map before returning to Chapell.

WHAT WE USE IT FOR

This Carroll is kind of weird; an entire city on a lonely island, under the control of the Spirit.

We have a whole subdivision of the Spirit in Little Havana, with its own boss and initiations. They are still part of the Spirit as a whole, but for most other purposes they're an independant entity. As you may have guessed, they're called the Chicago Rum Runners.

The Chicago Rum Runners use Little Havana as a base of operations, warehouse, and distillery. With free access to the Caribbean and its many exotic alcohols, Little Havana has become a perfect location for the Spirit to expand into and acquire more products. Thanks to the constant influx of immigrants from nearby islands, the gang is growing and business is booming.

The future of the Spirit is in the Caribbean.
