THE NEW The most careful may have noticed it for more than a week: the Great Elven Fair organised by the showmen coming from the Kingdom of Elrich is back in town this year. It has been already five years since the last edition of this event that, without any updates, felt as if it had entirely vanished. Everybody know how hard it is to get a visa for our sacred lands. And even harder, to manage to set up such a show. Numerous attractions will open during the event, but a fair amount of them are already accessible. Be careful though! During this edition, eating vegetables inside the fair is prohibited, elrichians considering them more like friends than food. The Blue SkyOur director and usual editor in chief, Aristide de la Chaux, is taking temporary holidays to the Sea of Clouds, in the Pentocle duchy. During his absence, Pierre Colombeau, veteran editor known for his talents to document actualities in the most objective way, takes the lead and manages the newspaper's direction. Pierre Colombeau will be the editor in chief during the following week and until October 30. The editorial team wishes Mr de la Chaux happy holidays. |
March against oblivion Rest of press has been pretty quiet about it, but we have decided to tell you the facts as they are. Yesterday, a protest organised by hundreds of inhabitants from the crown occurred for the first time in a while in Guérin. The protest shaped like a march that should have ended at the doorstep of the royal palace, but it had to be stopped as soon as it formed due to its illegal nature. The authorities announced a dozen injured and no fatalities. The desilist movement, which played a key role in organisation, announced fifty-four deaths and sixty-two injured.  The Ferris WheelThe Great Elven Fair opens its Ferris Wheel to the public, a gigantic attraction about a mile high! Equipped with fourty cabins, the device can hold up to one hundred and sixty person. Discover (high city) Guérin like you never saw it before. Previous fair editionIt was four years ago that the controversy that lead to the reomval of Elrich fair in Univers'Isle began. The last fair edition was held during the harvest season, during which the crops are celebrated. It is obvious that Elrichians, who make a point of honour to respect the vegetables did not appreciate seeing Isleans stuff themselves with various fruits and vegetables. This year, the Elrichians have canvassed the royal court to organise the fair at one condition: that the visitors holding vegetables would be refused entrance! The Blue Sky calls on everyone's responsibility! If you want that such events to occur again in the future, it's up to you to respect those foreigners' rules. PROTESTS AND FIERCE CLASHES IN GUÉRIN Yesterday, on October 18, a walk with a record number of participants occured in Guérin (high city). Inhabitants coming from all across the Kingdom took part in this event whose goal was to demonstrate the anger of the people toward the decisions coming from the court of our dear king Marien II towards the Kingdom's budget. In fact, as you know if you crossed upon the cities and villages that constitue the peripheral crown of Guérin, that Isleans that live there are struck with a deep feeling of abandonment. More than anything, they want the Kingdom to believe in them again, to believe in their authentic know-how and terroir. Early in the protest, a farmer that was taking part of it has been interviewed on this topic : "I'm fed up with the royal court financing troubadours coming from abroad to entertain the crowd while we have to deal with what we have, no one give us anything to produce more and better." Another one called to us "If we came back on Earth, we could have access to more resources, more work force for our activities". This last assertion isn't unanimous in the protesters, in fact it's a thought stemming from the desilist movement, that partly financed the protest from the crown towards Guérin. Desilism, this school of thought now prohibited over the past decade, continues to thrive and advocate for peace between Univers'Isle and the World. Recently the movement made the news by sharing the plans and rites to create a hole under the island, allowing it to fall into the World. Due to the illegal nature of desilism, the armed forces of the Kingdom made their best to stop the protest, that ended with multiples injuries and fatalities. |
DomeThis major news already lade the rounds in the island, the Dome met its twin earlier this month: the Under-Dome, shortened Underdome. Like the Dome, the Underdome, its alter ego, enable the creation of a second sky that covers the island in order to create the day-night cycle. However, unlike its sibling located on the surface, this flagship of magic covers the inferior part of the island, in order to offer a similar comfort to those on the superior part to the Isleans living in Guérin (undercity), under the island. A month after the last enchantment around the island enabling the Underdome to form each day, mages in charge of its maintenance will hold their position for the first time by the end of the week. From Saturday, the towers will all cast water veils, that merge to form the Underdome. TrudayDuring the night from Sunday to Monday, the sixth truday of the year will occur. The Dome and the Underdom will be paused for the occasion. As a reminder, the last time true sunlight shone on the city to brighten up its long night was in last July. All of the outdoor family activities available on the island will be free. Don't forget that trudays give our children memories of what a real sunny day looks like. So, in order for the Dome to work and repeat this memory on them, don't miss this date! |

WRECK God alone know what happens those unfortunate enough to fall from a ledge over the nothingness. Nobody comes back from the endless void. Alas, this is the fate the Most-Mighty chose for four soldiers that were scanning the surroundings of Guérin (undercity) a mile under the island. The crew was flying a light airengine, designed to far exploration, when around twenty past fou yesterday, numerous hydra maws stopped fueling the machine's blow. The causes of this unforseen event are yet to be determined. The hydra blower in charge of these machines has been arrested. The even is rising once more hypothesis regarding the nature of the deep void and how it works. It is entirely possible that these four soldiers are currently falling forever. It is also possible that their bodies merged with the mass.  |
Pocket suburban tensions From October 20 to 24, numerous fights between the police and offenders occured in multiple areas of the suburbs, in the island's undergrounds. These conflicts are the consequence of the operations to dismantle the Wishing devils lamps that take place since the beginning of July. Due to the offenders using their merchandise's powers to assault the police, the situation quickly ran out of control. A police officer declared "We managed to get back a part of their merchandise to face them as equals but some are cut with holy waters, we are only granted one or two wishes". As a consequence, these areas have been pocketed and will be reintegrated to the island once the residents suffer from hunger.  Fortune-tellingThe zodiac chamber gets inaugurated in the fair today! ONE WHEEL Yesterday, on October 20, and unforseen incident occured at the Great Elven Fair in Guérin. Early afternoon, a cabin of the Ferris Wheel detached from the attraction, with on board a well known man from the newspaper: Pierre Colombeau. Alas it was when the cabin was at the highest point of the Ferris Wheel that the incident occured, leaving no chance to Mr Colombeau to escape alive. This incident is due to the negligence of the foreign showmen that organised the fair. The Islean authorities immediately intervened and evacuated the population as quickly as possible. Awaiting their sentence, the Elrichians are locked up the the Kingdom's jails. All access to the Kingdom of Elrich have been cut in the event that the residents wants to get their criminals back. Evil must be taken down. Due to the time needed to dismantle the fair, every event that would have gathered a lot of people in Guérin are cancelled during the following days. The Blue SkyThe Blue Sky is mourning today, just as the rest of the city. Pierre Colombeau could never be repalced at the redaction. He was giving everyone passion of journalism and never failed to his task. It is certain that his experience and his great intelligence will help to complete the Most-Mighty. So that his efforts won't be vain, as long as we are alive, we have to ensure that Evil will no longer be commited. |
Church restoration The sumptuous expectativist church of Callagne, a duchy known to be annihilist, is under restoration. Last month, this church, whose architecture changes everyday, has been degraded by extreme annihilists. No one knows how long the repair work will last. This unique trait apparently complexify the work, that must be restarded from zero each day.  TrialThe trial of Louis Petiot meets its end! The Islean coming from Guérin and accused to have raped and murdered men and women in numerous duchies of the Kingdom was arrested five years ago. His trial seems to finally bring him to a death penalty due to other crimes committed under house arrest. The collected money from sales of this issue will be granted to mourning mayors that, in addition to having lost a friend, work hard every day to bring them financial help. |

Incident at the Great FairYyesterday, on Thursday 20 October, an incident happened in the Elven Fair in Guérin, held by Elrichian showmen. As Pierre Colombeau, an editor of this newspapaper, contemplated the wonder of our beautiful city of Guérin from the fair's Ferris Wheel, something gone wrong. At the highest point of the attraction, the mecanism use to carry the cabin disjointed from the rest of the Wheel, bringing him to a mile-long deadly fall. Our journalists, already on site, have been able to investigate and interrogate the showmen. No need to include in this article the ridiculous arguments those scoundrels use to clear their name, the Blye Sky found and verified the source of the problem: a negligence in the attraction's maintenance, a behaviour that is very little Islean. DIRECTOR'S OPINION: THE DANGER OF STRANGER CULTURES May the tragic loss of Pierre Colombeau teach us a lesson regard our tolerance policy towards the strangeness that languishes outside of our sacred house. The Kingdom is already busy enough managing the dangers of the isle to welcome the misery, the subs-beings, them and the problems they come with. As soon as two days ago, men died for a noble cause: exploring the abyss of our voidy world. The death of Pierre Colombeau is the result of stupidity. What an absurd end that the one caused by a carousel built by wops whose gears lacked vigilance. This should never have happened. Pierre wasn't solely killed by the Elrichians, he was killed by the lobbying formed by this newborn mass of businesses that work overisle. Money is not a issue. We can make money in our cities, in our countryside. We just need to cauterise the wound, to stop all these loopholes in our laws that never wanted to give such an exchange liberty to our citizens. To become once more fully sovereign, it is more than time to secure the island and to set up borders. Only the King, obviously helped by his lovely court, that some of us at the Blue Sky are part of, can give his approbation regarding each project willing to become real.  |
StudyA study conducted by the finest researchers of the Kingdom showed that the Worldean nobility, be it those that imposed their outdated laws to our Islean ancestors or those still living in the World, in fact don't have blue blood. Indeed, their blood is red like the one of a peasant. This discovery showed that the individuals ruling over the monarchies down there were and still are quacks. HarvestThe Harvest Festival in Agrieux will not take place next year. Guérin festival-goers continue to deplore this cancel. Indeed, if this mythical party no longer bring in the crowds of today, it has been the most popular for a long time in our history. It's the fourth year in a row that this festival is cancelled due to internal reasons. It thus takes the form of multiple, less costly and less crowded, parties across different villages of Agrieux, often improvised. One could ask if this trend did not emerge there to avoid the massive influx of Islean coming from other duchies to Agrieux. Noticeably, our journalists noticed that during the improvised parties during the Harvest, some roads linking Agrieux to Guérin are obstructed with straw blocks, preventing any circulation. The authorities are investigating this issue. We will know more about this topic during the next Harvest. |

SEA OF CLOUDS Let's instead brighten the day now. During his holidays — that weren't lasting until October 30th like unfounded rumours could indicate — the director-editor in chief of the newspaper, Aristide de la Chaux, visited the Sea of Clouds, wonder of Univers'Isle. By the way, the newspaper thanks Valérie de Lorme that managed the redaction during Mr de la Chaux's absence. Because we face times of peace, let's talk about this heavenly place that is the Sea of Clouds for a moment, in order to inspire you your upcoming destination. What is worth the Sea nowaday ? All the gold in the World and it's our director who says so. The Sea of Clouds, in Pentocle, is a large crack whose borders are multiple miles apart. Clouds lie between the cliffs that border it. But not any type of cloud. Clouds that, when you dive, make you feel like them. Light and flyable. This is the main goal of this wonder: swimming. Sweet dreams where you fly in the sky are jealous of the Sea Clouds which is very real. For half a century, nobility came back slowly in this mythical place where once the farmers used the clouds to grow peculiar plants and cereals. As soon as the price of those products dropped, rich counts from Pentocle bought back the land and turned in into a heavenly park — way more pleasing that fields of dirt. The place proposes two main activites: swimming in the sea and visiting the park. Disk-shuttles bouncing all over the Sea have been set up to exit it at any time, no matter how far one is from the land. This is, by the way, this system that inspired the creation of the cumulogliders used by Iselan forces to navigate over the cloudy zones inside the World. Be careful not to swim when it's raining, the rain dissipates the clouds and leave an heavy mist! Many Isleans lost their lives thinking the mist would make them swim like the clouds, but nay! |

FloraIn the past, farmers used to grew mysterious seeds here, found in the most dangerous forests of the Kingdom. If agricultural use of the Sea of Clouds ceased, some vegetals coming from this agriculture subsisted through time. The most appearent one are the cabbages that, before being turned into incubators for our future children, were filling their plates. Today, those cabbages seem to be full of clouds and can, due to their extensible nature, float in the sea. Obviously, they aren't made to be eaten, don't touch them.  |
FaunaWith the rise of tourism, beast are less numerous in the Sea of Clouds. The rare animals visible inside the sea are the volæthers whose head becomes flat and circular when touching the clouds. These animals represent a threat for us du the the fact they are thunder-loaded and release bolts to attack us. Even worse. In the Sea of Clouds, if enough volæthers are around, clouds gets charged with thunder and a devastating storm occurs.  Today most of the animals inside the Sea of Clouds are owned by the visitors. On occasion, new wild species have been introduced into the region because of visitors losing their pets. Because of this, any beast brought there must be kept under surveillance. |
