Contest for the Fourth Anniversary of the Italian Branch
Let's prepare to celebrate: the Italian Branch is about to turn four years old! 2020 brought a breath of freezing air into our lives; we kept close to each other - though distanced by a screen - and spent some special moments together. This place wouldn't exist without you all, so we've decided to let you pick the theme of the contest for which we'll be writing for the next two months. Our goal is to force you out of your comfort zone and test yourselves. Now we can finally announce that the idea chosen to represent the contest for the fourth anniversary of the Italian Branch is… well, all ideas, more or less.
End of the Contest Announcement:
The contest for the fourth anniversary of the branch is officially over. We were proud to read your tales, and we were glad to read what you concocted. I have to say, perhaps this contest turned out to be more complicated to assess than the Halloween one from a logistical point of view, but at the end of the day every work was neat, which pleases us. However, while every tale is awesome, there can be only one winner. What contest would it be otherwise?
Bear in mind that all the sections under the final announcement only have illustrative purposes for future contests.
Well, the tale that won this contest was Hesperus, written by Dr Zeno.
Anyway, I also take this opportunity to reveal the jury who assessed your tales:
Dr Pisy
ProcastinationTime
Riko-based Lifeform
Dr Zen
DrMeleda
Dr Vulpes
DrAlberts
TheBoxOfFun
Dr Aisenberg
Dr Placido
Siddartha Alonne
Rules
• In this contest, SCP entries will NOT be allowed. You may only submit:
- SCP Foundation tales - either canon or out of canon - which include one or multiple elements of the IT fictional universe, such as SSMs, one of the Italian groups of interest, a piece of Special Equipment or official Italian personnel. We expect these elements to become an integral part of the story, rather than simply being there.
- Group of Interest formats – either canon or out of canon. Only formats from GoIs that appeared at least once in a canonical SCP entry will be accepted.
- The tale for the contest will have to stick to at least one of the themes proposed by the users. The theme will have to be key in the creative process.
- The users may not use by any means the theme they proposed in the works they'll submit.
- You may participate either alone or in a group.
- Every user may be part of one group only: those who participate alone may not be part of a team, or the other way around.
- You may participate with more than one tale.
- The tales which don't stick to the guidelines above and aren't included among the "Participants" before the end of the contest won't count. Furthermore, you may not edit your tale after the contest is over, not even to correct any typos.
- The jury will consist of eleven users who won't participate in the contest, chosen between staff and regular users. They will be selected after the end of the writing phase and will pick the contest winner.
- The winner will secure the precious IT achievement “Triumph”. Moreover, their tale will be exhibited in the website home page, in the IT newspaper and in the IT social media accounts.

The tale doesn't have to be fully reviewed or approved to participate in the contest, but a honed work will be better-regarded than one which wasn't fully revised.
