Summer Contest 2021

Greetings to all SCP Foundation users! Like every year, the staff is glad to announce the beginning of a new contest to celebrate summer. After such a complicated year that had us spend a lot of time locked up at home, why not offer a vacation to our very diverse users?1

Without further ado, here's the event rules!

End of the Contest Announcement

Very well, everyone, this summer has come to an end as well, and so has our Summer Contest of 2021. There were less participants than in previous contests, probably because many of tose who were there in the past have defected to work on other contests, with the excuse that they had no time or will to partake in this one. That's no problem, though: we found them, sliced them up, took their organs and sold them on the black market to fill the stash of the IT Monetary Fund, which empties every year because of Wikidot bugs making holes in the code, and all the money falls through them. Anyway, the jury was less busy reading and assessing your writings. Some were neat, some were not so neat, some were like Ȃ̶̈A̴̾̎A̸̹̿Ȁ̶̖..

And the winners of this contest are:

First Position: Lo_DevLo_Dev with SCP-121-IT - Anomalous Turin

Second Position: QuantumCryptographerQuantumCryptographer with Summer Flowers

Third Position: Siddartha AlonneSiddartha Alonne and Dr PlacidoDr Placido with SCP-069-IT - The Exodus

  1. The theme of this contest is summer holiday destinations. The seaside, the mountains, art cities, woodlands and so on. You have the chance to unleash your creativity with the countless tourist areas we usually visit in the hottest months of the year. Of course, your entries don't have to be holiday reports, as long as the location is a summer holiday destination.
  2. All types of entry are allowed — SCP entries, tales, joke SCPs, GoI formats, and out-of-canon works.
  3. You may participate either alone or in a group.
  4. Every user may be part of one group only: those who participate alone may not be part of a team, or the other way around.
  5. You may participate with more than one entry.
  6. The entries which don't stick to the guidelines above and aren't included among the "Participants" before the end of the contest won't count. Furthermore, you may not edit your entry after the contest is over, not even to correct any typos.
  7. The jury will consist of eleven users who won't participate in the contest, chosen between staff and regular users. They will be selected after the end of the writing phase and will pick the contest winner.
  8. The winner will secure the precious IT achievement “Triumph”. Moreover, their entry will be exhibited in the website home page, in the IT newspaper and in the IT social media accounts.

Start: 15th June 2021
End: 15th August 2021 at 20:00
Winner Nomination: 21st August 2021 at 18:00

How to Participate:

Once your work is done, post a new page titled “it-summer-contest-2021<username>”, where <username> must be replaced with your Wikidot username.

Afterwards, once published, you may rename it by clicking on “Edit” at the bottom of the page, so as to display the desired title in the table. In case you're part of a group, specify the name of the person designated group leader. The rest of the participating users must be listed in a comment to the page.

If you wish to participate with more than one SCP entry or more than one tale, you need to post the page and name it “it-summer-contest-2021<username><entry number>”.

The entry doesn't have to be fully reviewed or approved to participate in the contest, but a honed work will be better-regarded than one which wasn't fully revised.

After posting the page, add the “it-summer-contest-2021” tag — Wikidot permitting.
