Scp Es 010

Item #: SCP-ES-010

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The occupied terrain by SCP-ES-010 it will be kept isolated from the civil public by means of 2.5 meter high concrete walls; Aesthetically the wall must show signs of structural damage and wear, reinforcing the alibi that the land behind it is abandoned.

Camouflaged surveillance cameras will be posted around the entire perimeter, monitoring activity both outside and inside the retaining walls; local police officials will have orders to remove and arrest anyone with the intention of entering the land, in the event that the breach has already occurred, the team of agents ready for the protection and monitoring of SCP-ES-010 -1 must intercept the intruders and proceed with their termination.

Researchers, agents and Class D personnel accessing the SCP-ES-010 terrain must be instructed to only walk along the available paths, regardless of their route or difficulty; all staff members must be equipped with a class 3 HAZMAT suit, with their own air supply. All contact with the vegetation of the place is strictly prohibited; In the event that any staff member violates this regulation, the entrance must be sealed, the perimeter secured and all personnel within the grounds considered deceased (KIA).

Description: SCP-ES-010 is a piece of land measuring approximately 564 m2 located at the La Estrella intersection, in the small city of ███ ██████, about 42 km from Caracas Venezuela. The terrain is irregular, as it is located on a steep slope. Much of the terrain is covered by downed trees, tall brush, and leafy vegetation; however, it is traveled along several interconnected dirt roads in a random pattern; In addition, an old residential building from the colonial period is located in the center of the lot. The building has 2 floors, is painted white (a color that is still preserved in a large part of its façade) and shows evidence of fire damage. such a fire actually happened in 19██ and is historically recorded by various literary and journalistic publications related to the city,

Within the terrain, a humanoid entity (SCP-ES-010-1) continually wanders; a mixed-race man in his late 50s, with abundant graying facial hair, of a slight build, and wearing worn and torn clothing, along with gardening overalls.

Said entity is dedicated daily to the care of the vegetation present on the land, using a set of rusty gardening tools, mostly broken; In addition, at first glance, none of the work carried out by SCP-ES-010-1 seems to have any results, since the vegetation continues immutable after them. However, in periods consistent with the region's weather patterns, a dense mist will cover the terrain; It is not an unusual phenomenon in the city, since it is located at a high altitude above sea level, however, the concentration and density of fog within the terrain is much higher than those presented in the rest of the city, which makes visibility difficult.

In general, the subjects who have entered the land during the presence of the fog describe a sensation of general well-being, describing pleasant aromas, but maintaining the pattern of being floral or vegetable aromas; colors pleasing to the eye, a comfortable room temperature, sounds and even pleasant music, all this being subjective according to the tastes of the subjects. However, upon removing them from the land, the subjects will show obsessive behavior, seeking any possible method to return to the site, including violence and hostility. The use of amnestics has not proven to be effective, the immediate termination of the intruders was authorized after the incident SCP-ES-010-C.

Studies carried out on air samples from the terrain during the presence of fog show the existence of an unknown psychotropic substance; small amounts of it have an extreme addictive effect, resulting in hostile demonstrations by subjects removed from the area. Side effects of inhaling this substance include strong hallucinations; Witnesses assured that during the presence of fog the rough terrain was replaced by large, neat-looking gardens; They also ensure that the colonial building did not show any signs of damage.

Despite the deplorable visibility conditions, it has been possible to determine that SCP-ES-010-1 does not make a body present while the mist covers the terrain, however, the subjects mention having heard a voice similar to what would be expected from a elderly man, encouraging them to “take a closer look at their work and enjoy the scenery”, accompanied by a warning not to walk on the gardens or touch the vegetation. In the event that the subject does not obey this instruction, SCP-ES-010-1 will appear behind him and immobilize him to proceed to amputate the part of the body that has come into contact with the vegetation. 010-1 seems to randomly choose the tool to be used to carry out the amputations. Any companion will be the victim of the same attack if he shows any gesture of displeasure, including exclamations, shouting, disapproving facial gestures or any other body language that demonstrates such emotions. These attacks not only happen exclusively when there is fog in the area, but any contact with the vegetation of the place will have the same result.

Recovery Data: According to data extracted from the local historical archive, the house and adjacent land would have belonged to Rómulo Torres Sosa, a notable individual from the regional upper class. Everything indicates that the building would serve as a farm, where the landowner had various crops of Fragaria and Prunus persica of which he made an important commercial use.

According to the files, in 19██ a fire would have been recorded on the property late at night. The by then poorly equipped local fire brigade was unable to contain the flames. Witnesses reported repeated explosions and flames of exotic colors, just as would happen if different chemical materials were in combustion. This is noted as unusual in view of the agricultural nature of the site, not related to the containment of hazardous chemicals or explosives. There were █ deaths corresponding to the service personnel, the two daughters and the wife of Torres Sosa. On the other hand, no remains were found of Torres Sosa and the family gardener, Jaime Hernández, who were presumed missing. The reasons are unknown

Local investigative bodies would carry out explorations of the area; The first recorded appearances of SCP-ES-010-1 would manifest, leaving a total of ██ casualties. The news of the death of the investigators would not take long to reach Caracas, where Fundación agents obtained permission from Sitio-Whiskey-01-CCS to follow up on the matter. Containment specialists were dispatched to the area and the current retaining walls were erected, with a balance of ██ casualties in class D personnel; at this point the Foundation understood that the trigger for hostilities was physical contact with vegetation. The necessary alibis were established as to the destination of the land and those who died during the various incidents, and selective destruction of the bibliographical material related to the matter was carried out.
