This article combines a lot of things I have a mild interest in - linguistics, anthropology, and history - and combines it with a compelling story. Naturally, it placed high in the CN-1000 contest, attaining sixth place.
I find this article more compelling than CN-1001, which placed third in the same contest; nonetheless CN-1001 is still a great article and those who enjoyed the linguistics part of this article and have particularly strong ability to suspend their disbelief when it comes to historical inaccuracy should read it here.
