Starts like any other "touch me and die horribly after going through several states of mental degeneration and agony", though nice twist in the end. Well done.
So the Foundation knows it is going to hatch, right? But do they know what is going to hatch? Did they X-Ray the egg? And why do they allow further contact with it? Shouldn't they be interested in the entity inside not to hatch?
See, that's the thing: this SCP was written one full year ago, well before we were even close to be as advanced (in terms of page finesse) as we are today. When we put our hands on the site again, one month ago, the SCP-IT section has been taken by assault by shitty articles, with no one to control it. We enacted a great purge, and this one was one of the few that survived because I and the rest of the staff saw potential in it. We tried to contact the OP, but he was long gone, so after a while I took upon myself to improve a bit the article (a general cleanup and the adding of the final note).
All of this is to say that yes, I really like where this one was going, but it still needs work, as the OP just posted it there as your typical "touch me and die horribly after going through several states of mental degeneration and agony", as you said. I'll probably work some more on the original version and then update the translation here, but in the meantime I wanted to give -INT something to see about us (also, it was a wanted page from my ULIS Orientation tale tbh).
EDIT: so yea, the question you posed are the same I asked, and that will be elaborated upon in the near future.

Sounds good. Also this SCP has the potential to change in-universe in the future. When the entity inside hatches, it will probably be a new SCP while this one will probably be neutralized. Such a grade of interactivity can be really interesting if done well.
