I like that it's a well written magic item. It takes a simple premise and explores it thoroughly. I feel like the functions of this thing tell a story of their own and I liked that there wasn't a token drawback.

I think this is a simple, neat skip, but it has a couple problems that annoy me: First, I feel like the description is needlessly long; parts like the dyes just bloat the piece, and having three paragraphs and two list before we get into what these earrings actually do is a bit overkill-y.

Second, that last note sorta feels like missed potential; you pose this concept that is interesting, then say "we'll explore" then… Don't do anything with it. As an ending, it's quite disappointing.

Think I'd novote this one.
