Groups of Interest of the Italian Branch

Overview

The GoI of the Italian Branch act mostly in Italy, but their activities lead them to all parts of the world. Most of them are rather old, having been created centuries ago. At the moment, there are eight Groups of Interest listed in the Italian Branch.

Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights

Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
Origin: Active in: Creator:	State of the Church Vatican City, Italy, and most Catholic countries MrFizban
- Secret religious order created by Pope Leo I in AD 454. - Based on Catholicism, led by the Pope and a few chosen Cardinals. - Divides anomalies in two categories: "Angelic", which are kept as relics, and "Demonic", which are either contained or destroyed. - Collected a large number of anomalies during the Crusades and the Spanish colonization of America.

Church of the Broken God
The Knights regard followers of the Broken God as heretics and openly target them for this.
Division XXV
The Brotherhood is completely clueless regarding the existence of Division XXV, and processes the Division's anomalies it gets hold of as usual.
Fascist Council of the Occult
The Knights of Saint George are hostile towards the Fascist Council of the Occult because the latter aims to have access to the anomalies contained by the Catholic Church.
Fifth Church
The Confraternity harbors great aversion towards the Fifth Church and Fifthism as a whole, against which it has launched a crusade.
The Hive
The Hive is a continuous source of annoyance for the Confraternity, due to its constant meddling and its attempts to steal their anomalies.
Korean Serpent’s Hand
The Knights are not aware of the Korean Serpent’s Hand.
Medicean Academy of Occult Art
Because of the many collaborations in the past, the two organizations are considered to be allies.
ROYAL INSTITUTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
At first the Knights of Saint George were hostile towards the Royal Institute; however, after the Lateran Pacts, their relationship improved.
Sarkic Cults
The Confraternity harbors immense aversion towards Sarkicism, considering it one of the foremost heresies of the modern world. Sarkic Cults are a target of the Knights wherever they operate.

Cult of the Great Eye of the Mediterranean

Cult of the Great Eye of the Mediterranean
Origin: Active in: Creator:	Probably Greece The Mediterranean Sea Generale Radahn
- Religious sect active since at least the 9th century BC. - Worships the Great Eye, with the majority of its more powerful members being a species of sea-dwelling humanoid. - Adept at controlling creatures of the sea and a wide variety of esoteric powers. - Hostile towards the Foundation. - Not above hurting and killing innocents.

The Cult of the Great Eye of the Mediterranean towards other GoI

Division XXV
The Cult is unaware of Division XXV. Its creations, however, are well appreciated addition to their arsenal most of the time.
The Hive
As a takeover by the Hive constitutes a loss in the faith of the Great Eye, the Hive is regarded as a pest and exterminated on sight.

Fascist Council of the Occult

Fascist Council of the Occult
Origin: Active in: Creator:	Italy Italy DrGraph & Mr Abadede
- Organization formed by members of the ROYAL INSTITVTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES still loyal to Fascism after its fall. - Aims to restore Fascism and create an Italian Empire. - Led by the Dictator, an individual with anomalous abilities. - Possesses advanced technology, used to create biological and bio mechanical weapons. - Hostile towards the Foundation - Lacks the resources to launch a frontal assault on either the Foundation or the Italian state. - Has an unknown number of sites in Italy, with an estimated 2500 members. - Not concerned with wounding and even killing innocents as long as it furthers its goals.

Fascist Council of the Occult towards other GoI

Church of the Broken God
The followers of the Broken God in Italy are seen by the Council as little more than an asset to be used to further its own goals. Since the mid-2010s the Council shares an alliance with renegade Mekhanites, which it exploits to develop paratechnology.
Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
The Council considers the Knights of Saint George a possible asset and aims to subjugate them to have access to its anomalous objects.
Division XXV
After the demise of Division XXV, the Council found out it had been infiltrated. It possesses limited information to the Division and tries to acquire as much of its anomalies as it can.
The Hive
The Hive is an annoyance for the Council, since it repeatedly sabotages Council operations. The Dictator is thinking about plans how to manipulate the Hive over its infiltrators.
Medicean Academy of Occult Art
The Council is hostile to the Medicean Academy and aims to assimilate this GoI.
ROYAL INSTITUTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
The Royal Institute was already disbanded when the Fascist Council of the Occult was founded.

Medicean Academy of Occult Art
Origin: Active in: Creator:	Florence Italy (headquarters), operates worldwide Naikos
- Private organization founded by Lorenzo the Magnificent in 1484. - Creates and collects anomalous artworks such as paintings and statues. - Has a large number of sites in most countries; each one is led by a "Tutore". - The leader of the Medicean Academy is the "Curatore" and operates from the Palazzo Medici Riccardi, which hides a vast underground museum.

Are We Cool Yet?
The two organizations share a fierce rivalry, with the Academy considering AWCY?'s art as tasteless and worthless.
Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
The two organizations are allies and cooperated often in the past.
Division XXV
The Medicean Academy doesn't know about Division XXV. It also doesn't care about remains of the Division, unless they are art-based.
Fascist Council of the Occult
The Medicean Academy is hostile towards the Council, because the latter aims to take control of the Academy for its goals.
The Hive
The Hive is a growing problem for the Academy. Corrupted members get evicted to prevent a take over but it seems as if it can not get rid of this pest.

Ordo Iani

Origin: Active in: Creator:	Roman Empire Italy MrFizban
- Ancient group created by Emperor Titus to study anomalous entities and events. - Active since AD 79. - Based on Roman religion and philosophy. - Currently has only a few sites, with less than 400 members. - Allies of the Foundation, carry out joint operations. - Tries to avoid any casualties if possible.

The Ordo Iani towards other GoI

Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
The Ordo Iani is hostile towards the Brotherhood for religious reasons.
Division XXV
The Order was informed by the Foundation about Division XXV and is therefore conscious of its creations.
The Hive
In agreement with the Foundation, the Ordo Iani attempts to apprehend Hive members and sends them to the Foundation.
Fascist Council of the Occult
The Ordo Iani is hostile towards the Council, because the latter aims to destroy or conquer every other GoI in the region.

Origin: Active in: Creator:	Kingdom of Italy Italy and its colonies DrGraph & Mr Abadede
- Division of the Kingdom of Italy's intelligence agencies that studied and contained anomalies. - Active from 1871 to 1946, when it became part of the SCP Foundation. - A splinter group still loyal to Fascism fled and later became the Fascist Council of the Occult . - Tested anomalous weapons during military operations, especially after the rise of Fascism.

At first the Knights of Saint George were hostile towards the Royal Institute; however, after the Lateran Pacts their, relationship improved.

Origin: Active in: Creator:	Most Serene Republic of Venice Venice and its commercial routes DrAlberts
- Secret organization of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, caused by the necessity of mitigating the impact of the use of anomalies from the Republic's rival powers. - Active from the first half of the ninth century to the Treaty of Campo Formio in the 1797, when it was dismantled. - Controlled a trading system of anomalies that weren't considered dangerous by Venice or weren't usable for its purposes. - Was founded with two main objectives: The Most Serene Republic of Venice's independence and its enrichment through the business of anomalous artifacts.

Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
The republic of Venice and the papal state had varied relations, ranging from open hostility to alliances; therefore, the relations between the two GoIs was mixed.
Division XXV
The College was already dissolved when Division XXV was founded and therefore didn't have a direct influence on it.
Fascist Council of the Occult
Despite being disbanded by the time the Fascist Council of the Occult was founded, the latter is aware of its existence.
ROYAL INSTITVTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
Just like the Council, the Institute was aware of the College's existence despite being founded after its dismantling.
Korean Serpent’s Hand
The College was already dissolved when the Korean Serpent’s Hand was founded and therefore didn't have a direct influence on it.

Anomalous Materials Information and Security System

Anomalous Materials Information and Security System
Origin: Active in: Creators:	Italy Italy Riko-based Lifeform, Dr Pistos & Dr Pisy
- Military research and development, military coordination, intelligence and policing organization in the anomalous field. - Founded by the Republic in 1949 with the support of the GOC and of the U.S. as a government agency to aid the resolution of anomalous interministerial events and against Soviet GoIs. - Got severely downsized in 1996 because of the end of the Cold War . - Its main purpose is to ensure the Country's safety from anomalous. - Collaborates with the Foundation nowadays, but it still allows itself to sanction it when it takes things too far.

Global Occult Coalition
Given the System was financed by the GOC, the two groups have a strict story of collaborations.
Fascist Council of the Occult
Since it's a group of far-right terrorist, the System is openly hostile at the Council.
ROYAL INSTITVTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
The Institute already became part of the Italian Branch when the System was founded.
GRU Division "P"
Since it was the main Soviet Group of Interest, the System was openly hostile at the Division until its dismantling.
Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
Just like the Foundation, the System has a cold collaboration with the Confraternity.
