Children of the Leaf
Overview: Children of the Leaf is an anomalous clandestine group/religious order/criminal organization primarily active in the Indochinese Peninsula and southern China, with a particular focus on NX-59-VN ("District Zero"). The organization is highly hierarchical and discreet, and there is isolation between members of different levels. At its core, the group functions as an anomalous religious order, while its branches are non-anomalous organizations that serve as a cover for operation outside the Veil. Most of the SCP Foundation’s knowledge about Children of the Leaf comes from the Bureau of Anomaly Surveillance’s documents and various sources investigated by the Spiritual Division.
Their doctrines revolve around the worship of plants, “the natural world”, and the deity they consider to be its embodiment — the Wood Deity, also called Wood Fiend. It seems to be a pluripotent entity claiming to represent the concept of “nature and plants”. According to believers, plants are the true and purest form of natural life, an inevitable outcome in the universe’s evolutionary process. In contrast, other life forms such as microorganisms, animals, etc., as well as products of modern civilization, are degenerations and corruptions of the natural way of life.
According to known intelligence, followers believe that the Wood Deity will descend in the near future and initiate a HK-Class Deific Subjugation Scenario, and are actively preparing for this event. Thus, in the far future, this group will become a serious threat to both the anomalous scenes and global security.
