Day of Flower
When the sky turned bright, those livestocks appeared.
What they brought were equal destruction.
Month of Honey, Day 2
The day before the event, I was preparing my spider speeder meticulously from dawn.
I placed the its elliptical chassis on the turntable, replaced a fibrous pipe, fed plenty of saccharine fuel, and loaded refills as much as possible.
Day after tomorrow, I will be heading to ██████. There my beloved Otzi shall spend his end peacefully.
It's almost 50 years, so we must do this while stirdy…
I've heard some bad rumor recently. A rumor of lowly rebels. It says that those livestocks with wisdom achieved began using our complicated tools. I hope it’s just some story from fictional entertainment of monsters from parallel verse.
Month of Honey, Day 3 The Day of Flower
It happened on noon. When we were all deep asleep in sunshine noon.
I woke up with Otzi growling and violent cacophony.
I ran out the bedroom through sphincter into the hall, and saw at the entrance a fallen livestock lying on burning muscle.
It was one of those two-legged livestocks. I spent so much expense processing a sphincter to make a shutter, but it reduced to junk.
The livestocks had a blood-soaked hat hook growing from its back. Otzi was still barking with a wooden stick in his hand,
I stood frozen, having difficulty processing the situation. However when I saw Otzi’s feline-like slouched back full of loyalty, I regained my consciousness. Yet I remained frozen.
Otzi pulled my catatonic form into the garage. I herad screams and shouts from outside.
Fortunately the spider had spit webs enough and ready for takeoff. Otzi and I successfully escaped the falling city.
The city was catastrophic.
Those lowly livestocks destroyed everything.
The once beautiful city covered in greens had fallen, and lives were reduced to ashes, lodestone, and dust.
Then I saw them spraying something. I don't know what it was but definitely nothing of good.
I watched everything through the cloud. Now I'm carving this on Otzi's tattoo while in this quiet cockpit of my speeder. Hope this note makes no use.
Month of Honey, Day 9
The situation was worse than expected.
Few days since, we flew over many cities, allowing the spider to rest for spinning webs.
I may have loads of fuel, but foods, weapons, and other supplies were necessity.
Those lowly livestocks acted simultaneously. Every cities were destroyed.
I took Otzi and sneaked in a fallen city.
I crawled through torn fibers, hoping for brethren, but found none alive. An eerie green fog creeped the city. Even inhaling a small amount caused discomfort.
Better avoid it, but then those livestocks roam around.
Even finding foods at a degraded market was a miracle.
However, the price was large. They found us.
They sprayed me with some spore-like substance. Fortunately I was not exposed too much thanks to Otzi, but I’ve been having headaches since then.
It feels like I lost something precious.
We escaped, but we better stay in the cloud for a while.
Better be careful how to act from now on.
Month of Honey, Day 13
I’m not feeling well. My health seems to deteriorate since the day we found food.
We consumed the limited food and fuels in the cloud, quivering in fear.
Yet I am rather lucky. For Otzi, I will call this a transformation. His fur fell off, leaving some scalp and facial hair decorating his bright expression. He seems healthy, but his backache got worse. His muscle decreased, making his body lithe and fragile. Fortunately it made me easier to carve tattoo.
We will run out of choice some day. This journey won’t last forever. Maybe hiding in the high alps may help. We can live quietly herding goats, then maybe those livestocks leave us be.
Or the Wasteland of ██████ or Antarctic Pole may work out. We just need somewhere quiet and at peace.
No cities make our refuge. I no longer have any patience to seek our brethren anymore.
They must have extinguished our race.
Then the better choice is to live peacefully in hiding, until a brave brethren finds us someday. Both my partner and I are too old now, so we have no such energy.
Either way, I decided to head to the western mountains. I recall a villavacant at this season, there must be something useful there.
Month of Honey, Day 21
It was a trap. Those beasts inhabited the villa.
I was too excited as I landed the speeder in the garden, seeing the villa intact as I remembered.
I should have realized as I opened the backdoor, crying in joy.
The beasts my servants held had taken over the place. They transformed into a sleek form just like Otzi, using tools and weapons with their tactile hand and chased us around.
I don’t know what they have done, but it seemed they improvised some primitive weapons and waited for a chance.
I found a hunting [DELETED] from the corpse of my servants in the study, but I lost Otzi in the encounter.
Almost everything went well. Except for the very end.
The armed livestocks were more clever than I expected.
Just as I hopped on the speeder, they shot a crude arrow, penetrating Otzi’s right eye socket. He fell from the trap, and they hit him with a club.
Otzi fell like a broken toy… it was probably an instant death, but I saw his body spasm as if his soul remained. I hoped it was instant.
I jumped off the speeder and shot recklessly, eliminating them all.
Now the villa is mine. It is now my temporary base. [
After I’m done writing this, I will bury Otzi in the glacier.
He stayed with me till his very end.
No more. I shall grant him peace.
I will head to ██████. My head hurts and my body ached all over the place. I’m tired of riding the speeder.
It’s just tiring to remember anything, but that will be the best place to end.
Fortunately now there are enough “skins” to keep recording.
Farewell my friend, born as a lowly livestock, yet my dearest brethren who lived along with me as my precious family.
I wish for the day of forgiveness from my offspring shall come in the future.
I wish all life the happiness in this world.
