Games change lives
Please bear in mind the concept and create games of higher quality every day!
——Braude , CEO of Letters Entertainment
Establishment of Letters Entertainment
Letters Entertainment was founded in an unknown anomalous location in 1982. At first, Letters Entertainment was not a single company, but instead an alliance of several anomalous studios. They shared technologies, but did not interfere with each other's productions. The games produced at this time were mostly oriented towards anomalous communities, therefore much anomalous technology was used.
As the alliance expanded, some studios that possessed anomalous technologies or information about anomalous communities attempted to join, causing internal chaos for the whole alliance. The alliance had undergone reorganization and reform with the help of Bread, the consultant of the alliance, and people in charge of the studios, finally forming the Letters Entertainment we see today. The company had preserved the characteristic of not interfering much with individual studios, and established different departments for the sake of easier communications between studios and other anomalous groups.
Structure of the Headquarters
Several departments are directly under the Headquarters for the overall management and coordination of studios.
Management Department
Responsible for following up with the latest trend of each individual studio, and coordinating between them. Generally speaking, the Management Department will not interfere or obstruct projects of the studios, unless they threaten the company's overall interest. At the same time, the Management Department will review individual studios' performances, but the main standard of judgement are the degree of effect on reality and their reputation. The studios with excellent performance each season are given rewards by the Headquarters.
Technological Department
Responsible for providing technical support for individual studios, whether they are common technologies or anomalous technologies. When new studios join Letters Entertainment, the Technological Department will provide training for their employees.
Marketing Department
The Marketing Department consist of Product Marketing Section, the Market Development Section, the Advertisement Section and the Aftermarket Support Section. They mainly provide market research information for individual studios, and are in charge of contacts with external organizations such as OB Media, MC&D, etc. Due to the independence of individual studios during the project development process, the Marketing Department has limited ability for internal interference.
Contacting work is not necessarily all carried out by the Marketing Department, as some studios also have the ability to get in contact with external organizations.
Financial Department
Responsible for the internal financial management of the company. For games released by the studios, the Headquarters will draw a lesser part of the interest. If the studio needs capital for project development, the Headquarters will provide help after market research.
Development Department
In principle, the Headquarters is not responsible for the development of the games themselves, therefore the Development Department is generally responsible for the gaming-related services, such as platforms, engines, etc.
Human Resources Department
Responsible for the inter-studio human resources allocation, and handles the acquisition or joining of new studios. Usually it does not question the internal human resources within individual studios.
Overview of Studios
Currently, there are ███ studios under Letters Entertainment all over the world and anomalous locations. Due to the unrestrained atmosphere of work, some independent studios attempted joining Letters Entertainment. For different studios having their own special modus operandi, there are conflicts between some studios that may escalate into destructive competitions.
The Headquarters sometimes also acquire studios. If they do not possess anomalous technologies, the Technological Department will provide training for them after they join.
Distribution Channels for Games
The distribution of non anomalous games
The individual studios do not only release anomalous games. Many of the members of Letters Entertainment have been practitioners of the gaming industry before coming into contact with the anomalous world. Before Letters Entertainment had a solution to its channel of distribution problems, some of the studios had been making non anomalous games to sustain operation. One the other hand, most of the studios regarded this shameful, and refused to put their logos in the game even if they had created the non anomalous games.
Plant Versus Zombies is a classic example of these kind of games. The PP Studio had used PoPCap as cover organization to release the game.
Marketing within Nexuses
Nexuses are anomalous communities spread all over the world. But because relationships between different Nexus are extremely loose, the characteristics of their cultures are diverse and their populations are low, localization of Letters Entertainment products is difficult to carry out.
Releasing under Disguises
After Letters had possessed the technologies to add anti-memes to its games, a portion of their games are starting to be distributed through normal channels. The testers' memories about the anomalous part are weakened, such that some anomalous games can make it through. Often new releases of Letters Entertainment will appear on the front page of Steam and other mainstream gaming media —— and then removed without notice after a while. Some studios had the initial aim of cashing in and leave, and the Foundation will take care of the "after-market support": compared to filtering the game out before they hit the store shelves, the recovering of the anti-memetic games and disguise of their information will be more economical. Another portion of studios may take anomalies as another kind of technology but not knowing the existence of the organizations like the Foundation, as they have just joined Letters Entertainment. There are even a minor portion of studios releasing anomalous games just to contact the Foundation.
Releasing through other anomalous organizations
The games produced by Letters Entertainment can also enter the market through other anomalous groups, such as undercover sales through MC&D, extraterrestrial sales through OB Media or data level sales through the Church of Maxwellism. In some cases, these anomalous groups can even help Letters Entertainment bypass inspection by the Foundation.
Developing their independent platform
The Development Department seemed to have an ongoing project on a Letters Games exclusive release platform, but not much information is known on this. After all, they would also hope to find a channel of release that does not depend on other organization, and the best way is to make one themselves.
Relationship with the Foundation
Letters Entertainment has quite a subtle relationship with the Foundation. As the manufacturer of anomalies, Letters Entertainment and the Foundation should have been rivals. However, the number of studios cooperating with the Foundation is hard to be determined, as snitches are to be treasured. In most places within the Foundation we can see traces of Letters technology —— from the recreation room to the weapon development workshop there are little things that uses their tech. At the same time, most studios do not know of Foundation's existence, only finding out after their games are removed from different platforms by its front companies.
Although there were clashes with some of the studios, until now the Foundation has not attacked Letters itself. Studios usually do not intentionally release a game onto the human market that harms people all over the world, if only because that would be unprofitable. This made actions against Letters by the Foundation much easier.
Connections with other anomalous groups
As mentioned above, Letters Entertainment needed to find other organizations to expand their game releasing channels, therefore they had kept good relationship with OB Media, MC&D, etc. Advertisements of these organizations can also be found in some games produced by the Letters Entertainment.
At the same time, outsources are also accepted by some studios, and these outsources are not limited to games only. For example, the SSWork and M&M Studios had made chips for Anderson Robotics on androids and animals.
Employees of Letters Entertainment may also come from other anomalous groups such as AWCY.

Q: May I create my own studio(s)?
A: For Sure! In fact, until now, most of the writers have chosen to create their own studios. But I suggest that before you start writing, you can think about how this new studio is different from the previous ones, and ideally to not only have minor differences in the types of games. If possible, I suggest that you can also complete its historical position within Letters Entertainment. Was it one of the studios within the first alliance? Or acquired afterwards? Do they originally have the ability to produce anomalies, or have they learnt it at the Headquarters?
Q: Is there any rules or restrictions on using the currently existing studios?
A: Usually not, you may go ahead and write it yourself! If you are uncertain about it, you may ask the creators of the studios.Studio | Creator |

Q: Are things other than electronic games available from the company?
A: Yes, there are. In fact, C&C Studio mainly produces board games. As to products other than games, we currently have a non-studio “Letters Gaming”, a team widely involved in most kinds of competitions. There are also things such as games spin-offs, livestreams, etc. that no one has written, but also suitable for writing!
Q: If I want to write a tale about Letters, what should I do?
A: I don't know! Because no one has written any for now……but if you really want to, you can cut in from the internal operations of the company, the stories between studios, or the containment of games and the sweeping of studios from the perspective of the Foundation. (You can refer to Infas12's CN790 and CN795)
Q: How do I add my original studios onto the list of studios?
A: The current situation is that you write it, you passed the line, then you may add it. The ones not on the lists now either we can't contact the creator, or the creator is too lazy to write it……
Q: What does Letters mean?
A: Here it means the alphabet. At the time we were undecided within a whole collection of names including B&B, C&C that now are names of studios. Afterwards SwanKnight said “So much letters you might as well just call it Letters”, and then it was finalized like that. But there can also be other interpretations, such as CN483 “Letters in a bottle” by
EDGE_chi.
Q: Will the Headquarters release games?
A: Not in principle, as the Headquarters is more like a management and coordination division. But then you can write about games that the Headquarters have assigned for the studios to produce. At the same time, the Headquarters may possibly release some other anomalies related to gaming.
Q: Does the studios accept outsourcing?
A: They do! But when you write about it, please consider about the characteristics of the studios, for example would they refuse a poorly idea-ed or planned out game? Would they disdain it only because they are not allowed to add in anomalous properties? Something like that.
Q: Is there a pattern in naming the studios?
A: In theory their names should contain letters or abbreviate to letters.
Q: How does the Foundation deal with Letters?
A: In the settings, the Foundation has an MTF-戊卯-6 “Walkthrough Guide”, but the MTF mainly focus on dealing with electronic games and Internet informatics, and the battles in reality have to be handled by other MTFs. On a side note, the relationship between the Foundation and some studios are great, they may even cultivate studios as snitches.
Q: I have more questions!
A: Please comment on this page, I will update it here!
