Inside Outside

I walk through the solutional cave.

Numerous stalactites, towering and hanging, resemble both plants growing with noble vitality and the corpses of long-dead, misshapen creatures. Colorful lighting gives the stalactites a dazzling exterior, but it does not change their essence, which remains within their hard surface. Whatever lies there is a realm beyond the interference of human reason. The outside cannot enter the inside, the inside cannot escape to the outside. It only beats within the stalactites.

I walk through the solutional cave.

Cold air persists in the cave to maintain a constant, chilly temperature. Despite being a product of nature, it evokes an artificial loneliness, as if I am locked up alone in a freezer. There is no one here but me. I look around, only to be stared back by countless stalactites. I wonder if the thing concealed within them is aware of a single human being who is gazing at it. Probably not. The stalactites are wrapped in as thick as a soundproof chamber. Therefore, it cannot see or hear. The outside cannot enter the inside, the inside cannot escape to the outside. I ruminate on that phrase again.

I walk through the solutional cave.

The outside cannot enter the inside, the inside cannot escape to the outside. It is a warning engraved in the protocols. Non-Euclidean spaces, extra dimensions, isolated Nexuses. Most of such places tuck those who enter them deep inside and never let them go. If you enter, you die. There is no help. I am not walking through this cave to find a way out. It is just a routine of a person in a tight corner, an escapade to delay the insanity. The stalactites are shining, expressionless.

I walk through the solutional cave.

The difference between outside and inside is so obvious. Scientific explanations cannot make sense here. Voices released within never reach the outside.

I walk through the solutional cave.

And I scream. The screams only reverberate off the stalactites.
