Item #: SCP-011-INT

Object Class: Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-011-INT is currently physically uncontained; considering its capabilities to affect the space-and-time continuum, containment solutions have been shifted to the maintenance of the documents, and any such technical, historiographical, and other such archival material associated with the anomalous phenomena, and its elements as per the joint effort conducted by, and through the efforts of Project Time In Memorial.

Project Time in Memorial is an initiative promoted by the Germanophone, and Lusophone branches of the Foundation, hosted at the facilities of Site Concordia where the infrastructure for the safekeeping of any associated material is available to project members, or other relevant peers.

Information about the project, and its relevant anomalous object, or any other future event that will be the cause of its existence is to be protected through standard internal, and external disinformation protocols; it is currently unknown when, where, what, and how the events which actually create SCP-011-INT occur but efforts to project preemptive containment procedures to the event, or series of events which caused the extant existence of SCP-011-INT are underway.

After the onset incident in 1969, SCP-011-INT has manifested during several emergencies of the Foundation to assist combat, and relief efforts. Since 2015, standing orders are to screen all Foundation facilities's infrastructure for foreign materials associated with SCP-011-INT as a means of preemptively managing the object's effects such as allowing certain actions to take place, as dictated by logic, in order to prevent temporal instabilities, and preparing on-site personnel, and its resources to act upon the anomaly's projected arrival.

Description: SCP-011-INT is a collection of anomalous phenomena associated with a sophisticated set of heavy power armour that affects relative time and space in this observable dimension. Several years can elapse without SCP-011-INT manifesting itself, and it is currently unknown how the object operates or resides in these intermediary periods.

SCP-011-INT-B is a human male of unknown age. Current investigations into the identity of the individual yielded no result. It is hypothesised that this individual is an essential component of the anomaly's phenomena as they operate the systems of SCP-011-INT-A.

SCP-011-INT-A is a body armour made of heavy plating, and several mechanical, and electronic paratechnological components in a system with ~230cm in height, and ~900kg of weight. Its white-painted outer hull always exhibits a certain degree of damage from various sources, such as dents, scratches, holes, or otherwise structural faults that would leave its systems without function.

Regardless of the state of its structural systems, SCP-011-INT-A is capable of operating without any or only little of such associated problems. Its primary systems are capable of long-range time-and-space dislocation (teleportation), and it has exhibited a plethora of secondary, and tertiary systems integrating thaumaturgic mechanisms such as:

  • An arm-mounted cannon capable of cooling materials to near absolute zero in less than a picosecond, presumably a heat ray inverted thanks to its anomalous properties;
  • A generator capable of creating structural shielding through the creation of a barrier-like ontokinectic structure;
  • The manifestation of different firearms, and explosives, from conventional weaponry to classified paratechnological prototypes, or otherwise foreign technology not located in Foundation-specific databanks, and its corresponding ammunition.

It is hypothesised that SCP-011-INT-A possesses an artificial intelligence construct connecting its systems directly to SCP-011-INT-B via surgical integration to the subject's nervous system. This artificial intelligence supports SCP-011-INT-A's operations; analysis of SCP-011-INT-A's plating, and other subsystems indicate an intricate system of 360º audio surveillance, and sensorial equipment present throughout the outer shell of the object; such a system appears to be integral to the fact that the object seems to respond autonomously to certain stimuli, such as perceived threats, or maintenance needs.

Several engineers observing the anomaly noted numerous similarities between SCP-011-INT-A's features, and other such assets created, or purposed by the Lusophone, and Germanophone branches of the Foundation.

SCP-011-INT-A's most notable anomalous property is manifested at the object's immediate location; it and projectiles of it will affect, and invert the continua of space-and-time; as a result, the causes, and effects of whatsoever actions performed, or influenced by its systems, will be reversed, or otherwise inverted, independently of any paradoxical relations caused by cognition, observation, or whatever previous, or future registers; such mechanisms which intermediate this undisturbed, yet perplexing flow of time have not been conclusively investigated by Foundation resources.

This paradoxical effect is manifested in a multitude of incongruent ways; objects directly interacting with SCP-011-INT-A appear to be displaced in time-and-space retroactively to their cause, or even completely change their cause-and-effect in order to manipulate the outcome of certain events.

For an outside observer, this for example causes SCP-011-INT to move backwards and bullets formerly embedded in walls to return to SCP-011-INT-A's gun barrel instead of being shot out when it fires. Living beings hurt during the course of these phenomena would, when the projectile remains in their body, invariably and gradually develop wounds over days or even months before their direct, or indirect exposition to whatsoever associated phenomenon caused them in the first place, only to completely heal thereafter. Until now, it has never been observed that a victim died because of this phenomenon. Should the projectile, however, completely pass through the victim to hit another target, damage will manifest in the usual way.

SCP-011-INT is effected during critical situations which have been considered historical failures associated with the performance of the Foundation and/or its branches in their primary mission for containment, security, and protection of anomalous assets.

In those cases, SCP-011-INT manifests at the onset, or during these catastrophic failures, trying to act heuristics1 to solve the issues directly associated with immediate problems, rather than solving whatsoever previous cause, or reason that might have occasioned such an event.

Discovery: The components comprising the armor were originally obtained as extremely damaged standalone pieces; anachronistically, the relevant components were located in time periods with a distinctive juxtaposition with the availability of the technology necessary to construct them, also, they already possessed their causality-inverting effect.

Originally, these components were classified as a collection of anomalous objects. With the first part found in 1906 in Augsburg, Germany, the objects were stored by the Germanophone branch, whose area of influence comprised most of the locations in which pieces were found over the years. The collection was completed in 1967, loosely reassembled and welded together by engineers of the Germanophone Branch, and put into storage.

In 1969, during a routine inspection of the infrastructure of the facility in which SCP-011-INT-A's components were stored, several types of foreign materials were discovered in several parts of the facility walls; these materials were later identified as ammunition, and shrapnel from various sources; staff was about to extract these objects and had drilled holes in the walls to reach them before the onset of the first SCP-011-INT-Event.

Simultaneously to this attempted repair, during the testing of a newly installed incinerator for biological waste, a partly dissected human corpse, wearing a skin-tight suit made from artificial material, assembled itself in the flames, and was taken from the machine to the on-site morgue.

The body was identified as SCP-011-INT-B, whose cause of death was determined to be exhaustion, and electrocution. The medical staff responsible for the necropsy noted that during the procedures they unwittingly restored several systems of the body which was initially partially carbonised.

During the preparations for the transference, and classification of the body as an anomalous object, it was temporarily placed on the ground due to a piece of faulty equipment; the body suddenly made an inverted fall motion, and remained swaying in place for several seconds; at the time, present personnel noted that the body seemed to be regaining bodily functions as it "smiled incessantly".

After two minutes, the body began stumbling backwards, and out of the room, straight towards the laboratory where SCP-011-INT-A was currently being sprawled on the floor and inspected; doors, and other lock mechanisms opened automatically to allow passage to SCP-011-INT-B. Following SCP-011-INT-B's arrival at the laboratory, all SCP-011-INT-A's components floated upwards to its pilot as he passed them and gradually and autonomously assembled as a proper system.

SCP-011-INT-A continued walking backwards towards one of the site's containment facilities; upon reaching the infrastructure, a site-wide containment breach was declared — although originally believed to be due to SCP-011-INT's entering, it was discovered that the alarm had been issued by SCP-173-DE's containment team as several instances managed to escape containment, and formed a composite with ~3 metres in height.

SCP-173-DE managed to break through the door of its containment chamber just as SCP-011-INT-A moved past it, and thus engaged with it. SCP-173-DE aimed at a distinctive group of holes at the SCP-011-INT-A's central thoracic components, and siphoned electricity from it, which jittered, and relapsed into a standing position; following this attack, the damage from SCP-011-INT-A's targeted thoracic components had disappeared.

Seconds later, SCP-173-DE retracted its limbs as it suffered a powerful knockback caused by an inverted explosion from a source that had been formed from shrapnel in the walls at its immediate front; the resulting implosion had sufficient force to completely disperse the object into smaller instances thereof.

The remaining composites of SCP-173-DE attempted to outflank SCP-011-INT-A; during the ensuing contact, SCP-011-INT-A started employing weaponry which, seemingly, caused the bullets in the walls to dislodge, ricochet from SCP-173-DE, and return to their apparent source in SCP-011-INT-A's systems. Following the neutralisation of SCP-173-DE's immediate threat, SCP-011-INT-A seemed to look, and walk around in apparent exasperation before suddenly vanishing in a flash of light.

Analyses of subsequent appearances of SCP-011-INT indicate that the damage sustained by SCP-011-INT-A appears to diminish gradually, however, so is SCP-011-INT-B's combat prowess; because of its temporal inverted nature, this experience in operating the armour under stress is degrading with each appearance, which correlates with the increase of casualties, and collateral damage caused by SCP-011-INT's effects. A reclassification to Keter is being considered.

The technologies employed on SCP-011-INT are being developed but are still far from completion, and classified under several distinct projects.
