SCP-100-DE

Item #: SCP-100-DE

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Newly discovered instances of SCP-100-DE in the real world are to be reported immediately, and to be secured by all means as soon as possible, or, if necessary, destroyed. Any and all new records concerning case SCP-100-DE are to be confiscated immediately, owners of whom are must be given class A amnesica. MTF DE9-𝖂 ("Gargoyles") is responsible for responsible for conforming such sightings.

SCP-100-DE-1 to SCP-100-DE-19 inhabit a closed room in Site-DE19 featuring the number 100. Solely personnel possessing access level 4/100 are permitted access to the room. Access level 4/100 is not enclosed within the standardized access level 4, and, if requested, may only be given to special personnel. Personnel entering the room must be equipped with VR googles as well as a head camera, so that wearers are unable to view their surroundings. The former may not be removed, in order to not trigger SCP-100-DE's effect accidentally.

Currently, SCP-100-DE-20, SCP-100-DE-21, SCP-100-DE-22 and SCP-100-DE-23 are located in different sites of the German foundation. Due to a variety of pending tests, they are being kept inside their respective sites for the time being. Decisive test results are being reported immediately, and added to the document.

Despite the distorted transmission, 45 video surveillance cameras are to be placed inside SCP-100-DE-A. They are to be inspected for any damages on a monthly basis. In case of present damages, they are to be repaired and replaced. In case of unauthorized persons inside SCP-100-DE-A, MTF unit DE9-𝖂 ("Gargoyles") is to be dispatched to apprehend said subject. During deployment, only SCP-100-DE-15 shall serve as passage in SCP-100-DE-A, as the respective linked waterspout has been localized on the Theo Burauen Square, in order to ensure the squad's return. Additionally, the MTF unit tasked with SCP-100-DE is to be equipped with water guns featuring a 10m radius. They are to be filled with holy water to counteract hazardous situations involving entities inside SCP-100-DE-A. Following the events of incident-100-Rema, Class D personnel entering SCP-100-DE-A must be equipped with an explosive necklace.

Description: SCP-100-DE is compromised of a collection of 23 stone waterspouts depicting a variety of different creatures and demons. Size and weight of the sculptures vary from 57 cm to 79 cm and 45 kg to 61 kg between the sculptures. In the collection, there are three (3) sculptures missing facial features and extremities.

The anomalous effect of SCP-100-DE occurs one second after viewing a waterspout, whereas SCP-100-DE-21 and SCP-100-DE-22 showed deviating abilities. The maximum distance in which an SCP-100-DE-waterspout can be observed to trigger its anomalous effect terminates at the curvature of the earth's surface. If the view on the object is obstructed, the effect does not appear to activate. This seems to also have been the case for photographs and reflections. When viewed in complete darkness, SCP-100-DE showed no effect as well. After viewing a waterspout, affected subjects begin to fully demanifest, and disappear from the view of any observer. According to reports, the subject does not feel any sense of movement or influence on its body thereby. Following the process, the subject appears in a world which is designated as SCP-100-DE-A. Currently, 7 distinct apparition sites could be documented inside SCP-100-DE-1. Subjects found themselves on the Domeplatte1, a café located in downtown, a park, a skyscraper, a crossroad of the Tunis Street, the Hohenzollern Bridge or the Station Square.

Subjects report that SCP-100-DE-A shows similarities to the downtown of Cologne, the center of which a large cathedral can be found that has been identified as a replica to the Cologne Dome. In itself, the Cathedral is just 3/4 built, and stands, as in the real world, on a 7000 m2 pedestrian platform designated as Domeplatte. The terrain inside SCP-100-DE-1 is described as being feral and decayed; a part of downtown is likewise in a destroyed state. A red stone emerges from the broken Domplatte which especially fills the area around the Domeplatte. The vegetation inside SCP-100-DE-1 seems to be completely withered, and is, in addition, rarely found. In SCP-100-DE-1, there is a light akin to a sunset, with it possessing a dark-red tint, instead of an orange. This reportedly obscures the environment in SCP-100-DE-1. Intact recordings from SCP-100-DE-A prove that only a fraction of Cologne's city is present inside SCP-100-DE-A. Reportedly, said is located on a levitating island; the space around the island seems to otherwise be empty, as nothing can be seen from outside. Since a series of tests concluded that it would lead into a deep dark abyss around the present district, one presently assumes that this is not the case. Following calculations of a research team, the complete area of the city of Cologne existing in SCP-100-DE-A is estimated to be 1.53 km².

Investigations into the Cathedral inside SCP-100-DE-A revealed that no waterspouts are present at the Cathedral itself, and a majority of the walls inside the Cathedral show humidity. Also noticeable was the strong odor of frankincense inside the church which was already capable of slightly dazing D-Class personnel. While investigating the catacombs of the Cathedral, a hole with a diameter of 0.5 m and an indeterminable depth was discovered. After a test involving a D-Class, the hole was recorded as kind of portal, as it transported the affected D-Class personnel back to the real world after entry (See Class-D Incident-100-DE). No other portal was found at the reappearance site. But the effect the portal induces on life forms is unknown.

SCP-100-DE-A was found to always contain a second waterspout which is similar to the waterspout being observed. The waterspouts seem to be connected in such a way that allows for subjects to travel back to the real world by viewing the waterspout inside SCP-100-DE-A. As there are a multitude of different waterspouts in SCP-100-DE-A, it frequently proved to be problematic to locate the observed waterspout. At the moment, 59 D-Class personnel failed in locating their corresponding waterspout. The transition from SCP-100-DE-A to the real world succeeds in a similar manner to entering SCP-100-DE-A, with the exception being an interim event. Subjects have always been placed inside a intermediate state, in which they are below a huge waterspout which is irrecognizable so far. A large waterfall streams from the waterspout's mouth, completely soaking the subjects,, and reportedly sending them back to real world after 3 seconds. Persons leaving SCP-100-DE-A re-appear exactly on their origin point they stood at the beginning when they entered a SCP-100-DE waterspout. When reappearing, a delay of 10 seconds occurs, before the subject is teleported to SCP-100-DE-A via renewed observation of the waterspout. However, when looking away and back at the waterspout, the subject was directly teleported.

Subjects often came into contact with various entities inside SCP-100-DE-A. The multitude of life forms in SCP-100-DE-A is currently under investigation. Class-D personnel described a species of entities as naked creatures with horns and black-red skin. Mostly, these were designated as terrifying and massive beings, and associated with demons or devil-like creatures by D-Class personnel. However, known life forms such as fire-colored-beetles or scarabs were found inside SCP-100-DE-A. Apart from that, the depictions of some entities match those of several of the 123 waterspouts currently located on the Cologne Cathedral. The life forms known in SCP-100-DE-A so far are the 23 small imps. The aforementioned earned its name due to their demeanor and appearance. They are recorded as SCP-100-DE-A-1 to SCP-100-DE-A-23 inside the document. During the stay in SCP-100-DE-A, subjects often recognize unusual events in their close proximity. Countless times, something seemingly invisible tugged on their clothes, pelted them with small stones, or let them fall to the ground. Closer observations could lead these pranks back to the 23 little imps. These were to be observed in intervals in remote locations or on top of roofs, on which they stuck out their tongue at the test subject, spitefully giggling onto themselves. Apparently, they always target the subject present in SCP-100-DE-A.

As of yet, carrying along objects from the real world into SCP-100-DE-A proceeded without incidents, whereas carrying or using cameras, as well as any other recording device has resulted in all recordings inside SCP-100-DE-A being corrupted after re-entering the real world. By simply physically touching an object during observation of a SCP-100-DE-A waterspout, the object can be taken along into SCP-100-DE-A. Additionally, there is the possibility of taking objects and even life forms from SCP-100-DE-A in the real world, though, this entails catastrophic consequences. Objects and life forms from SCP-100-DE-A all individually develop one or more anomalous properties, as soon as they are transferred to the real world. Strength, extent, threat, and quantity of anomalous abilities depends on the object's size and mass. However, many times objects have been taken, which in the end showed the same anomalous abilities. Known cases involving objects with little weight being extracted from SCP-100-DE-A even showed that it is possible to recover objects lacking anomalous effects. Life forms, however, almost always appear to posses one or more anomalous properties. Scientists theorize that taking along larger life forms along from SCP-100-DE-A would be able to cause an xk-class-end-of-the-world-scenario. A list of anomalous objects and life forms from SCP-100-DE-A has been appended to this document.

During observation of SCP-100-DE-21 and SCP-100-DE-22, subjects reported vastly different experiences. The world subjects are teleported to after viewing SCP-100-DE-21 is denoted as SCP-100-DE-B. As it is entirely unknown how the world inside SCP-100-DE-21 looks like, as it is described differently by every subject, little has been documented about SCP-100-DE-B's interior. The transition into SCP-100-DE-B, however, is described exactly as the one into SCP-100-DE-A. Firstly, D-Class personnel reported SCP-100-DE-B looks like a flat rocky landscape, another time like a large dark labyrinth of white marble, and secondly like a destroyed amusement park called "Wojak Lanura". So far, 3 of 5 reports are known in which subjects could not return from SCP-100-DE-B. Test trials involving SCP-100-DE-21 to SCP-100-DE-22 have been discontinued for the time being to devote attention to SCP-100-DE-A.

Discovery: On the 9. December 19██, 23 anomalous waterspouts were removed from the Cologne Cathedral. They were brought into custody, with replicas being placed in their former position, to prevent further attention from the civilian population. The total sum of persons which were teleported to SCP-100-DE-A by viewing an SCP-100-DE waterspout before the foundation arrived was 39. The foundation became aware of SCP-100-DE when masses of civilians and media reported a phenomena, in which people on the Domplatte suddenly vanished. Due to the awareness of ██% of Cologne's population being above SCP-100-DE, the local release of an aerosolized Class-A amnesica was performed. Any and all evidences of private persons, businesses, authorities, or the public relating to the SCP-100-DE case have been completely expunged within a year.

Addendum-A: On the 17.03 19██, an unauthorized person was observed within SCP-100-DE-A. This person was brought to the real world by MTF DE9-𝖂 ("Gargoyles") for questioning. The person in question was an elderly man with camera equipment. The man stated he has been to SCP-100-DE several times and tried to make recordings. When asked how the man accessed the world in SCP-100-DE, he answered to have always thought that is a dream, as he occasionally wakes up in said world when he sleeps, suddenly awaking in his bed after viewing any waterspout inside SCP-100-DE-A. A Class-A amnesica was administered to the person, whereafter he was sent back home. Since this incident, more people were found inside SCP-100-DE-A. The aforementioned persons also testified that they thought it is a lucid dream.

Addendum-B: In SCP-100-DE-A, no christian statues or crucifixes such as crosses were observed, even in their original locations. Currently, it can only be speculated if there is a connection with the theory of the scientists.

Addendum-C: Investigations into the waterspouts concluded that the stone appears to only be about 200 years old.
