SCP-153-VN
Description: SCP-153-VN is the designation for a line of toys in the form of a pair of small stuffed bears with multiple different colours and details depending on the model. SCP-153-VN is sold under the name “Papa Bear” (SCP-153-VN-A) and “Mama Bear” (SCP-153-VN-B). Right under the tags on the bears read “Papa/Mama Bear of Dr. Wondertainment” and “Just like the real thing/W”. SCP-153-VN usually can only be found and purchased by young children or households with young children1.
SCP-153-VN is believed to manifest when placed near an individual aged 1 to 13 years old2. At this point, SCP-153-VN will change its posture and positions. These movements usually stop when observed by others, resuming after not being observed for some time, and are believed to mimic the parents or guardians of the children. In cases where SCP-153-VN is actively interacted with, it often inflicts similar sensation on the children’s own parents or guardians.
Addendum: Retrieval cases
Case#: 01
Summary: SCP-153-VN was discovered at a crime scene. SCP-153-VN-A was found near a couple of young parents after they jumped from the twelfth floor for unknown reason; one of the mother’s arms was completely deformed and bones fractured because of sudden strong pulling force. SCP-153-VN-B was seen next to a balcony railing, one of its arms found in the intact palm of the mother. The child was discovered still sleeping in the apartment living room, facing the balcony.
Case#: 09
Summary: The father’s flight got caught in an irregular storm and crashed, resulting in his death along with ten other passengers. Extended investigation conducted by the Foundation eventually traced the anomaly’s location through familial connection. The mother confessed to doing laundry, which included SCP-153-VN-A, during the same time the storm occurred.
Case#: 013
Summary: SCP-153-VN was accidentally found displayed by a Foundation personnel in a glass cabinet of a family they knew. It was recovered before it could affect anyone.
Case#: 036
Summary: Two instances of SCP-153-VN were cut and sewn together with red thread. At the same time, the car carrying the child’s parents and an acquaintance was caught in a serious accident, leaving both in critical condition. After hours of surgery, the child’s mother was successfully saved, while the other two did not survive. Notably, a portion of the mother’s skin and organs were successfully transplanted from that other passenger.
Case#: 058
Summary: SCP-153-VN-A was found completely burned in the house’s fireplace. Over the course of ten years, around three more fires occurred inside the house, with the sole victim being the father. Notably, a fourth family moved in and out of the house without suffering any fire. The father of this family burned to death in a serious traffic accident.
Case#: 067
Summary: SCP-153-VN was found on the main cross of the church, crudely nailed to it with studs. The cleric and nun managing the church were discovered crucified on cross-shaped tree trunks in the nearby forest. Multiple relatively big wooden stakes were used to pierce through the arms, legs, and hearts of the two victims, leading to death by exsanguination. The culprit has not been found.
Case#: 092
Summary: SCP-153-VN was found in the private residence of a Foundation personnel after their marriage abnormally improved. It was retrieved from the daughter before amnestic was administered; the personnel’s marriage broke down roughly two months after the event.
Case#: 100
Summary: SCP-153-VN-A was found next to the body of the father who had committed suicide by repeatedly banging his head on the floor, clutching a kitchen knife in hand. SCP-153-VN-B was discovered with its seam torn open in the stomach, causing its stuffing to protrude outward. It was recovered from within the mother’s internal organs. Upon thorough examination, a bloodstained piece of paper was found in SCP-153-VN-B’s stuffing. The legible text on it reads as follows:
"User Guide."
“Whisper your wish to the bears before bed, and your parent will understand.”
And a smaller text below that reads:
“Or gets a little rougher, your parents will understand.”
