Item #: SCP-3004-JP
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3004-JP is to be uninterfered with, as it does not influence the general public in any way.
Description: SCP-3004-JP is a metaphysical space located approximately 1500km above the ground where it used to function as "Heaven".
Up until at least the 24th century, SCP-3004-JP was under the governance of multiple divine entities whose religious doctrines included the concept of "Heaven". The metaphysical substances comprising SCP-3004-JP uniformly emit significant amounts of Akiva Radiation1, providing a highly plausible basis for the theory that SCP-3004-JP was created by these divine entities.
SCP-3004-JP exhibits an attracting property for spectral entities that believed in "Heaven" during their lifetime; the attracted spectral entities voluntarily begin to reside in SCP-3004-JP after their arrival. These spectral entities tend to form colonies based on their pre-death religious beliefs for compartmentalization. In the past, SCP-3004-JP had enough space, environment, and recreational activities for these spectral entities to continue to reside, and the divine entities created and inhabited temples near their corresponding religious colonies.
From logically natural deductions, it has been hypothesized that the divine entities created SCP-3004-JP in order to provide an ideal habitat for the spectral entities, and had governed it since then.
Due to the worldwide decline in religious beliefs caused by the development and spread of scientific technology, the existential intensity of divine entities has been declining at an accelerating rate since the early 19th century. As a result, divine entities started to actively cease the omnipresence of their avatars2, concentrate such energy in their main selves, and stay in places where they can easily gain faith, such as sacred places of their religions, from around the 24th century in order to maintain their own existence at a steady intensity. This trend was no exception for the divine entities governing SCP-3004-JP; when the Christian Trinity ceased the omnipresence of their avatars in the 28th century, the divine entities completely disappeared from SCP-3004-JP.
From the collapse of its governance system to the present day, 3315/4/13, SCP-3004-JP has been cyclically maintained by a self-governing organization composed of spectral entities.
This self-governing organization is composed only of spectral entities that have resided in SCP-3004-JP for more than 100 years, and its existence is strictly concealed from the rest of the spectral entities. The main activities of the organization are as follows.
◾︎ Cover-up efforts to conceal the fact that there is no divine entity in SCP-3004-JP from the spectral entities who are not part of the self-governing organization. Specifically, these activities include imitating the outward appearance of a divine entity by fusing multiple spectral entities, and providing services by pretending to be divine servitors.
◾︎ Acquisition of resources that have ceased to be supplied due to the disappearance of divine entities. This is accomplished by converting spectral entities belonging to the self-governing organization into divine energy through ritual mechanisms3 remaining in SCP-3004-JP. The spectral entities to be converted are selected in the order of their duration of residence in SCP-3004-JP.
◾︎ Repair of SCP-3004-JP, which has become unstable due to the disappearance of divine entities. This is performed using the aforementioned divine energy; the shortage of the energy is addressed by gradually shrinking the communities' areas of activity.
As the number of spectral entities reaching SCP-3004-JP has decreased with the decline in religious faith, the scale of these self-governing activities has been shrinking as well. Assuming that the decline in religious faith accelerates at its current rate, the spectral communities in SCP-3004-JP are estimated to disintegrate within the next 300 years.
