Item #: SCP-3192-JP

Object Class: Pending

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3192-JP and all duplicated corpses are to be placed in a Standard Long-term Cryogenic Storage Chamber.

Description: SCP-3192-JP is an Asian female, 61 years of age at discovery, registered as Tōdō Masako living in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. SCP-3192-JP is thought to have the anomalous property that duplicates of itself will manifest in the vicinity near the time of its death; however, this anomaly is merely a conjecture based on the situation in which SCP-3192-JP was discovered, and cannot be proved. The manifested duplicates are capable of living without moving, speaking, or needing sustenance or excretion.

SCP-3192-JP was discovered and contained on 2023/9/2, when nearby residents reported that its house was producing a strange smell. At the time of discovery, the decayed corpse of SCP-3192-JP was found in its bedroom lying on the bed, with six deceased duplicate bodies piled up on the original SCP-3192-JP. In addition, one duplicate body was standing at the bedside, watching the corpses. Autopsy revealed that the duplicates were identical to SCP-3192-JP in bone structure, fingerprint, and genetic makeup, and that all of them had died due to non-anomalous myocardial or cerebral infarction.

Addendum 1: On 2023/9/3, the living duplicate died from myocardial infarction. While the process of its death was being monitored in order to determine the mechanism of the anomaly, SCP-3192-JP did not produce a duplicate. As it is thought that the anomaly may have other properties beyond its duplication, SCP-3192-JP has been classified Pending, and will be reclassified Neutralized if no further anomalous properties manifest after one year.

Addendum 2: On 2023/9/4, a bottle filled with blue liquid was recovered from the attic of SCP-3192-JP's house. A label reading "Solitary Death Thanatoma1 was attached to the bottle. However, as thanatoma is extracted in terms of causes of death, such as "suffocation" or "blood loss", it is thought that "solitary death thanatoma" cannot be extracted using current technology. As such, investigation into how and where this "solitary death thanatoma" was extracted is in progress. In addition, an experiment to inject this "solitary death thanatoma" into Class D personnel has been put on hold indefinitely.
