⚠️ content warning

Item #: SCP-335-DE

Object Class: Dagdagiel1 Khonsu2

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-335-DE must be held within a containment chamber measuring 5 m x 5 m x 5 m, which features an ordinary bed, a nightstand und a lamp for testing purposes. Experiments may only be conducted at night and with the lights turned off. A self-termination of D-4567 must be prevented at all costs.

Description: SCP-335-DE designates a roughly humanoid being measuring one meter and ocher-colored () sunken skin. Large eyes with black pupils are present above an apparently multiple-fractured hooked nose, which, however, does not appear to support breathing. The lips are dry and chapped, obscuring a toothless oral cavity. A tapered dark-red nightcap with a white tip can be seen at the entity's head, accompanied by poulaines of the same color on its feet, while the rest of the body remains undressed. In addition, the entity is also carrying a black sack containing a white powdery sand, which SCP-335-DE throws at its victims.

Attacks sporadic and independent of any pattern, but are always occurring at night and within domiciles the victim inhabits. Additional requirements include the wakeful state of the victim, missing illumination, and closed windows. SCP-335-DE would manifest underneath the bed, crawl to the foot, and erect itself. The manifestation of SCP-335-DE has an immediate effect on all doors and windows within the room, causing them to become indestructible and locked. This is followed by SCP-335-DE climbing onto the bed, producing sand from its sack, and throwing it onto the victim's face, which is showing similarities to the mythical figure of the sandman. Despite this likeness, the sand paradoxically causes an agitated and stimulated emotional state. However, the entity appears to have no knowledge of this effect and continue its attempts at making the victim fall asleep. Methods used for this purpose include, but are in no way limited to beating, increased sand application, strangulation, and asphyxiation using the pillow. Continued exposition to the sand of SCP-335-DE will often lead to palpitations, fever or an epileptic seizure. All defensive efforts will remain unsuccessful, as the entity has displayed superhuman strength despite its size, repeatedly throwing its victims back onto the bed, which has already led to its destruction and made SCP-335-DE more aggressive. Ambushes only end at sunrise or the victim's passing, whereupon SCP-335-DE will demanifest.

PoI-335-DE, also known as Dr. Lerch, is a humanoid individual manifesting in mirrors and attempting to snitch SCP-335-DE.

1.) Interview with D-456 25/12/2022

Foreword: This interview was conducted by Dr. Lerch following the initial manifestation of SCP-335-DE within the cell of D-4567.

Dr. Lerch: Good morning, D-4567. I am here today to ask you a bunch of questions concerning the attack yesterday. This will help us treat-

D-4567: It was wrinkly … and … and … so filled with anger.

Dr. Lerch: Well, let us just start at the beginning. If you are still struggling with what has happened, you are free to take your time.

A few minutes pass before D-4567 takes a deep breath.

D-4567: I went to bed as usual. It was still so quite back then. Then … then I thought the house was creaking, but then it rose with this giant grin.

Dr. Lerch: Can you describe the entity in more detail?

10 minutes pass without a response. Occasionally, attempts to overcome this can be observed in D-4567, including notable changes in position within the chair as well as deep in- and exhaling.

Dr. Lerch: Forget my question. Let us move on to the occurrences.

D-4567: The occurrences, of course. It screamed that I must fall asleep, grabbed me with its putrid paws, shook me, and continued to scream. We wanted the same thing all along.

Dr. Lerch: Why should it attempt to make you fall asleep like that? Have you tried bringing it up?

D-4567: Of curse [[sic]] i did. But it wasn't listening. Finally, it reached into its bag and threw this white stuff at me. Suddenly, I became more awake than ever, stood up and wanted to run, but it grabbed me and threw me back on te [[sic]] bed. This fucked up monster.

Dr. Lerch: These red handprints on your neck were caused by the entity, weren't they?

D-4567: Yes, it clutched me once I was back on the bed. Punched me again and again until dawn.

Dr. Lerch: And you are unable to recall anything about the entity's appearance?

D-4567: No, please stop. My head…

Dr. Lerch: Come on, we're almost there.

D-456: No!

Afterword: The interview had to be terminated due to the subsequent tantrum of D-4567.

2.) Interview with D-456 28/12/2022

Foreword: D-4567 entered the interrogation room of Dr. Lerch.

Dr. Lerch: Good morning, D-4567. You should be familiar with the process by now.

D-4567: Good … morning? No No morning has been good since this creature is hunting me.

Dr. Lerch: That's why I'm here. To help you process this crisis. It would still be beneficial for both us if you were telling me about the entity's appearance.

D-4567: What do you want anyways, you whore! Just sitting around behind your plexiglass every day slurping coffee. How the hell are these questions supposed to help me?

Dr. Lerch: We are observing your activities at night, but were unable to capture the entity so far. The doors are always locking themselves, and breaking them hasn't helped either.

D-4567: I just want to sleep, you know? Sleep! Why won't you just let me go?

Dr. Lerch: Because we want to protect other people from this entity. And we can only achieve this by studying and eventually capturing it. Back to the appearance-

D-456: No!

D-4567 stands up and punches the glass while Dr. Lerch attempts to hold her back. Visible damage remains in the glass.

D-4567: Not as stable as I thought. Just you wait 'till I get my hands on you and throw you at that thing so you can see it with your own goddamn eyes.

Dr. Lerch: All right then, the first attack occurred in the night before Christmas, which is why I'm suspecting a correlation. Is the entity wearing fitting clothes, perhaps?

D-4567 slumps back in her chair, eyes widening.

D-4567: How do you know…? Yes,… yes, it wore a Santa hat on its head.

Dr. Lerch: Did it seem familiar to you in any way? Or its voice?

D-4567: Yeah, but I can't tell why.

Dr. Lerch: Do your best. You're safe here with me.

Some minutes pass during which D-4567 is strenuously squeezing her eyes shut, attempting to pull herself together. Tears are forming and running down face.

D-456: I can't.

Dr. Lerch: Let us try hypnosis. I got a pendulum I ask you to focus on. Relax and catch up on some sleep, okay?

D-456: Okay.

Dr. Lerch causes the pendulum to swing and talks to D-4567 until she enters a hypnotic state.

Dr. Lerch: I want to bring you back to Christmas Eve 2022, before these horrors befell you. Can you tell me what you see?

D-4567: I… I'm seeing myself and Lars sitting before the Christmas tree. He is unwrapping his present, but didn't bring any for me. He was already very defiant in the orphanage.

Dr. Lerch: Can you tell me something about his appearance?

D-4567: He had long brown hair and a metal piercing on his left ear. And… and a Christmas hat on his head.

Dr. Lerch: Perhaps the same hat the entity wore?

D-4567: Yes, but he isn't happy with the present. He calls me a whore and runs back to this room. I… I go upstairs in my room and cry my eyes out. Then… there is my savior. Ever since I left the service, I've needed it. In through the nose and relax.

Dr. Lerch: This explains the white powder of the entity. What ha-

D-4567 suddenly begins violently striking with her hands and press down an apparent object.

D-4567: No, fall asleep! Callm [[sic]] down! The present … I … I … didn't want this … I … I said "Sleep!" And … then he just slept. I … I'm … am a monster. Aaaa!

D-4567 screams and grabs her head.

Dr. Lerch: I will count to five now and then-

D-4567: No, you're not real! This fucked up beast isn't real!

Dr. Lerch: And how real I am. You're about to find out once you come back. One, two,…

D-4567: No, you can't do that! What have I done?!

Dr. Lerch: … four, five.

Dr. Lerch snaps her fingers and D-4567 opens her eyes.

D-4567: No, this is impossible. You are … me? No. No!

Afterword: Since then, SCP-335-DE has not manifested again. Dr. Lerch and D-4567 are no more. I will bury them.
