The first documented victim of SCP-393-DE1
Item #: SCP-393-DE
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: At present, due to the anomalous nature of SCP-393-DE, it is neither possible to make a prognosis for its appearance nor effectively contain the entity. All attempts to lure it into a room with suitable conditions within a Foundation site were indeed successful, but no tool known to the SCP Foundation could thus far prevent the anomaly from demanifesting.
All reports, visual records and eyewitness accounts publicized about and indicating an encounter with SCP-393-DE are to be detected by webcrawlers, permanently removed from social media via Foundation web scrubs,2 and discredited using precise disinformation campaigns. If present, victims and eyewitnesses of the entity are to be interrogated by agents from nearby sites or outposts and subsequently treated with class A amnestics.
If victims of SCP-393-DE have received no dental treatment prior to their amnestization, they are to be placed in the care of an external SCP Foundation stomatoligist. Records, reports or articles regarding SCP-393-DE are to be confiscated, declared misinformation, and archived both physically and digitally under security clearance 3/393 or level 4 respectively.
Description: SCP-393-DE designates a presumably sentient entity displaying cervicofacial actinomycosis,3 the full appearance of which could only be realized fragmentairly by affected persons. Records of the instance using security cameras, for example, or other media seems to be impossible, as recording devices do not record or have their data be completely corrupted for the duration of its stay upon manifestation. Its exact complexion, as well as origin and creation remain hitherto unknown. A visual description of the anomaly matching all testimonies by victims or passive observers can be found later in the document.
The only known information concerning SCP-393-DE are its anomalous capabilities and presumed preconditions4, by which the entity can successfully manifest near a victim. Another anomalous ability or anomalous effect of SCP-393-DE is its capability to put its victims - and other humans as needed - into a paralysis-like state upon viewing the anomaly.

A map with the most sightings and reports of SCP-393-DE
Due to the fact that no appearance of SCP-393-DE has been documented within the international area since its discovery in 1994 and that it was only observed in German-speaking countries, it can therefore be assumed that its hunting grounds are limited to Germany. According to statistics, it hereby prefers metropolitan spaces, while either evading smaller towns and villages or declaring them an unappealing hunting territory.
SCP-393-DE appears to be quite selective when choosing its victims, given that past victims of a "Toothfairy"5 event have paid constant and intensive attention to their own dental health and hygiene. Furthermore, it seems to exclusively materialize within closed rooms with blind spots, closets, curtains or other alternatives to remain out of sight. Another aspect important for the manifestation of SCP-393-DE seems to be the presence of a mirror or a sufficiently reflective surface within the victim's room.
SCP-393-DE is only seeking out victims who are alone or isolated within a room, as testimonies with more than one person usually ended with the entity retrieving and dematerializing within the blind spot. However, these are the only reference points and consistencies all affected persons shared. Although no test could be conducted thus far, there is reason to assume that once a person should attempt to deliberately observe the entire physique of SCP-393-DE, it will prematurely abandon the location by retrieving and dematerializing.
According to statements, the whole body of SCP-393-DE has never been observed in its entirety. The body part most frequently mentioned is an elongated, cylindrical neck with a lenght of two to three meters and a diameter of approximately 55 to 60 cm. This neck is completely covered in long greasy hair, which is often recounted as being tangy, matted and partly damaged in its structure. The skin of the instance is often described as featuring a scarlet pigmentation, but there are also victims who have already seen the instance with green or even black skin colorations.
The head of the entity is flat and appears to merge into the neck, making a differentiation almost impossible. Although the face of the entity could never be described in detail, testimonies by various eyewitnesses overlap in several regards. The face of SCP-393-DE is characterized by a series of unusual and severely deformed features. The entity's eyes are hand-sized, far apart from each other and display an exotropic squint. The iris and pupils are jet-black and reflect almost no light. A wide, upturned nose is present between the eyes so that the nasal bridge is not visible. According to eyewitnesses, the nose resembles a mixture of a horse's and a pig's snout. One feature, however, everyone who has observed SCP-393-DE mentioned were its distinctive ears. They are said to be pointed and resemble those of a deer, but with small antler-like protrusions directly above the auricle-like structure.
The mouth of the entity nearly extends over the entire width of the face and is recounted as being lipless, making gum and teeth permanently visible. The teeth are notably white and shiny, which strikes a stark contrast to the overall unkempt and repellent appearance of the entity. SCP-393-DE consistently flaunts a wide, teasing grin which causes intense feelings of unease and anxiety within observers.
Extraction of teeth after an encounter with SCP-393-DE
Once the anomaly has successfully manifested, it will extend its head in the direction of its potential victim and seize them - usually from behind or another angle outside of the person's peripheral sight - preferably at the head, hair or jaw, grilling them. On this occasion, the gripping force of SCP-393-DE is described as being "superhuman". The skin of the affected victim often shows damages ranging from superficial cuts up to hematomas.
According to reports, after successfully seizing the victim, it will punch any and all utensils the person carries with them out of their hands, and briefly press its face onto the victim's. After SCP-393-DE has effectively approached its victim, using its free hand, it will draw a toothbrush from its hair and purposefully fixate the victim's face towards a nearby mirror.
The toothbrush is in a state of advanced decomposition, but the degree of decay appears to vary from victim to victim. The bristles of the brush are tattered and riddled with both organic as well as inorganic residues, including feces, mold colonies and unidentified biological material. The surface of the toothbrush is coated with a sticky, greenish-black viscous substance that features an acrid smell of decay. The structure of the toothbrush is often described as uneven and "as if it has been used improperly or was deliberately deformed over years".
Once SCP-393-DE holds said toothbrush in its hands and has fixated the victim's gaze onto a reflective surface, the entity will begin to violently push its toothbrush into the mouth of the victim. At the beginning, it imitates slow movements of a routine dental care, which is described as "pleasant" and "frighteningly calming".
Within a short period of time, however, it will accelerate its rhythm, with the intensity increasing dramatically. Moreover, the movements are being described as erratic, wild and "gravely sadistic". SCP-393-DE becomes progressively rapid and more aggressive, while the bristles are invading the interdental spaces with growing severity, rupturing the gum. Blood leaks from the injured areas and mixes with the residues on the brush, creating a dark-red viscous substance that runs down the victim's tongue into their throat region. The pain the victim experiences during this process are being described as intensive and unbearable. The brush not only seems to damage the surface of the teeth, but also deeper layers.
After some time of "tooth brushing" has passed, survivors will witness how a rapid process of tooth decay starts. Tooth enamel will initially turn yellow, then grey, and lastly jet-black. The teeth begin to deform, crumble and eventually fall out. Every decay step is accompanied by intense, pulsating pain.
Afterwards, gum will retreat, become necrotic and further bleed while the remaining teeth loosen and ultimately rip from their dental roots. The smell created in the process is being described as a mixture of rotten meat, decaying organic material and an acrid, acidic odor. The victim remains conscious throughout the entire process. During the whole encounter, victims appear to be permanently paralyzed, with them recounting a state "similar to sleep paralysis".
At the end of the cleaning process, the dentures of the victim are either partially or completely destroyed. The pain persists even after the process' termination, and the victim remains in a state of traumatic paralysis. Afterwards, SCP-393-DE will slowly retreat its neck into a blind spot and dematerialize, with the entity's mocking grin remaining visible until the end.
Discovery: The first time a living victim of SCP-393-DE has been discovered occurred at the 17.02.1994, when she reported to a stomatologist of the SCP Foundation stationed nearby and reported about a "decay" of her dentures. As the female patient was known for her intensive dental care at the practice, the agent instructed her to immediately come to his treatment under the guise of an emergency operation. Once there, he examined her and realized that several of her teeth had reached a level of putrefaction as if they had remained unattended for decades. He subsequently informed Site-DE7 as the nearest site and agents were dispatched to question and then amnestitize the victim.
Addendum: The following contains an interview of the victim and a Foundation agent.
