SCP-845-JP

Item #: SCP-845-JP

Object Class: Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-845-JP is now deceased, and its corpse is preserved cryogenically at Site-8123. While research on SCP-845-JP has been discontinued, SCP-845-JP and related research materials are available for viewing upon presentation of a permit from a Research Department personnel with Level 3 clearance or higher.

Description: SCP-845-JP is a biological entity that consists of twelve human brains combined with Miyama Saburō, a private first-class soldier in the Imperial Japanese Army. All brains, including Miyama Saburō's own, have been confirmed to have undergone lobotomies. Miyama's head has been expanded to 143 cm in diameter to contain multiple brains; additionally, the bones of SCP-845-JP's hands and feet have been removed, and the tips of its right hand and foot have been bitten off by a large shark species - most likely a great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) - which makes it difficult to move around on its own. Its head is tattooed with the words “八重言代主神” (Yae Kotoshironushi no kami), suggesting that the modification of its limbs was intended to reflect said deity's lore.

SCP-845-JP responds only when it is addressed as "Yae Kotoshironushi no kami," is provided with sufficient prior information, and is then asked a question for which a specific answer exists. The answer may vary in accuracy depending on the provided information, but is always the most reasonable one that can be derived from it. Since information given to SCP-845-JP is accumulated, SCP-845-JP's answers become more reliable by providing more accurate data. Conversely, providing it with a large amount of inaccurate or abstract information results in less reliable answers.

The following is a partial list of information that has been accumulated in SCP-845-JP.

  • Imperial Japanese soldiers are not demoralized or confused by surprise attacks.
  • When Imperial Japanese soldiers die, they always take one or more enemies with them.
  • Imperial Japanese soldiers can survive more than ten bullets and still continue to perform their duties.
  • Imperial Japanese soldiers can continue to fight even without food, water, or ammunition supplies.

As a result of the massive input of these inaccuracies, SCP-845-JP's answers have become extremely unreliable.

SCP-845-JP was originally supplied to the Japanese Army in 1943 by the Imperial Japanese Army Special Medical Force, but was disposed of after Japan's defeat in World War II. It was publicly announced that Private First Class Miyama Saburō was executed as a Class-C war criminal.

Addendum 1: Excerpt from an interview with [REDACTED], who was seconded from Shūshū-In as a "consultant and auditor" of the Special Medical Force. Interview conducted on 1947/█/█; access to the full transcription requires approval by the Site Director.

Interviewer: Dr. Andrew Kaufman

(IRRELEVANT INFORMATION OMITTED)

Dr. Kaufman: [REDACTED]. Could you tell me about that thing your group created… Yaekotoshironushi, I believe?

[REDACTED]: Heh. It was a kind of human sacrifice. I feel totally sorry for him.

Dr. Kaufman: Could you elaborate?

[REDACTED]: I mean, at first we were trying to make something that actually worked because that guy said he was willing to give himself up for our country at such a young age, he even wrote his mother a farewell letter, umm I can't remember his name right now, whatever, it doesn't matter, so anyway we combined the young man with the brains taken from some commies and Koreans. Regarded it as a god to worship. And then… Look, I don't have the slightest idea how it functioned as it did, but you remember the document I gave you before about its inner workings? Everything's exactly as written in it.

Dr. Kaufman: So what does this all relate to human sacrifice?

[REDACTED]: Don't rush it, man. What I'm saying is that in the end, no matter how many times we tried, it all came out the same.

Dr. Kaufman: In what way?

[REDACTED]: We couldn't do anything to change the foregone conclusion that Japan was going to lose. Useless, it was. Did practically nothing except give a bunch of oh so obvious answers. We got quite a few complaints from the higher-ups about why it would only talk about the defeat that everyone knew was inevitable when they wanted a winning move. (takes a sip of the water placed on the table)

[REDACTED]: But then [REDACTED] asked us to transfer the thing to him. You know, the commander of the Battle of [REDACTED] in Burma. He said he was going to use it to boost the operation, so we showed him how to make it memorize information.

Dr. Kaufman: Oh… I kind of get it.

[REDACTED]: Apparently this is why he was released. Sad story, really. I heard he claimed he was only deceived by it, even though it wouldn't have output anything if he hadn't inputted the assumptions.

Dearest,

Father and Mother, I hope you are doing well.

I remember that you were not rejoiced when I was notified that, despite the fact that I was deemed ineligible for the third-class conscription criteria due to my birth lameness during my physical examination and was not allowed to serve my nation, they were willing to make me useful for the Imperial Army. However, in this time of emergency, it is incumbent upon all of us citizens to stand as one of the Emperor's babies to protect the nation of Japan. Please be delighted.

I would like to ask you to consider that I am offering myself to protect the land of Japan, where you and Sachi live, from the Americans and the British. I am not confident that my physical body will be strong enough to protect you if you suffer at the hands of these nations. If I can protect my parents and little sister by sacrificing myself, it would be my greatest pleasure. I will surely lead my nation to victory with my own flesh and blood.

Please stay well. Saburō is happy just to know that his Father, Mother, and Sachi are all doing okay.

Sincerely yours
