Item #: SCP-CN-1483
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the current difficulty of containing SCP-CN-1483, all sites in different locations are responsible for searching and covering up the anomalous events relevant to the subject when 4179 Toutatis approaches the earth.
Description: SCP-CN-1483 is the designation of a series of anomalous events that occurs when 4179 Toutatis approaches the earth. These events would only appear within the circle centred on the projection of the asteroid on the earth's surface, with a radius of around 100 km. A list of such anomalous events is as follows:
- Birds lay eggs with patterned shells.
- Children and creators became more inclined to produce works related to the stars.
- Household lamps, streetlights and other lighting equipment cannot give off light as usual; as a result, the brightness of the stars observed in this area will increase.
- Individuals in the area have the urge to look up at the sky1.
- A small part of the aforementioned people disappears while looking up at the sky, leaving only a small amount of cosmic dust (with composition and proportions varying from each other)2.
The Foundation has conducted several explorations to 4179 Toutatis, only to reveal that its mass increases slightly every time it passes by the earth with no other prominent anomalies. If this phenomenon continues, the asteroid is likely to crash into the earth in a few centuries; however, with various uncertain events that may occur during this period, the object is temporarily classified as Euclid.
