Scenery inside SCP-CN-2270 during the occurrence of SCP-CN-2270-1, note the optical anomalies of the trees on the mountain.

Special Containment Procedures:Residents living around SCP-CN-2270 have been repatriated. A barrier declared as a military quarantine zone has been established five kilometers away from SCP-CN-2270. All video records of SCP-CN-2270 on the Internet have been deleted. The image records of the object on the foundation's intranet only save the photos in the files as archives.

SCP-CN-2270 is not under the jurisdiction of any site. Three professional teams dispatched by the Optical Anomaly Department are responsible for the object-related blockade, containment, and scientific research. When the SCP-CN-2270-1 incident occurs, all team members need to evacuate with all photographic equipment and imaging materials. After recording the incident for the first time, there is no need to make any records.

All items inside SCP-CN-2270 are not allowed to be taken out.

The above containment procedures were updated after the incident CN-2270-██, [REDACTED].

Description:SCP-CN-2270 is a mountain located in southern China (██°██′N, ███°██′E), with an altitude of 1███ meters. The primary optical anomalous effects of the object are as follows: human eyes and recording equipment cannot capture any colors, and the internal landscape of the object presents black and white tones. Those effects do not affect the color of foreign items.

No animals exist in SCP-CN-2270. There are sparse and dead ceiba (Bombax ceiba), ficus microphylla (Ficus benjamina), linden (Ficus religiosa), and some common trees in the area on the surface of the mountain. The surfaces of all plants are severely burned and covered with carbon black. No microorganisms have been detected in the soil of SCP-CN-2270.

A river flows from the east of SCP-CN-2270 to the northeast. The waterbody of the river is black, and the dispersion is black particles with a diameter of about 150 nanometers. Chemical detection of surface particles contains a large number of heavy metal ions.

Every seven years, an anomalous incident occurs in SCP-CN-2270 (now designated SCP-CN-2270-1) from mid-February to the end of early March1.

During the occurrence of SCP-CN-2270-1, many cracks appear in the ground and bare mountain areas in the forests of SCP-CN-2270. A total of 100 animal cubs2 emerge from the cracks and come to the ground, developing rapidly at speed visible to the naked eye by adulthood, all animals do not have hunting demands. The following two weeks of rainy weather appear in SCP-CN-2270, and lush reeds (Phragmites australis) grow along the river on the east side of the object, whose roots continue to secrete flocculant-like chemicals, causing the river to impurities to settle and the water becomes clear.

After that, the vegetation within SCP-CN-2270 re-grows, the trees within bloom flowers retain the color corresponding to the non-anomalous plants in a week. All flowers wither uniformly after 5 days. In this period, a leopard (Panthera pardus) spawned in SCP-CN-2270-1 keeps carrying the fallen flowers to the top of the mountain. After the drone followed, it was found that there is a 0.9m×0.6m×0.5m obsidian stele erected on the top of the mountain with severe wind and rain erosion traces on the surface. A wooden box is buried about six feet below it, which contains seven severely damaged black and white photos whose shooting locations are unable to distinguish and a fragment of handwritten notes.3

After 2 weeks, all the trees produce transparent tetrahedral fruits. The fruits can scatter the sunlight that passes through it, showing seven colors of light. During this period, the optical anomalies within SCP-CN-2270 are temporarily neutralized. One week after the fruits bear, the light band on the top of the mountain [DATA EXPUNGED], lighting up all the trees, and spreading the fire to the entire territory of the object.

Animals in the object do not have adverse reactions while inhaling the toxic gas produced by the burning of trees and retain the original regularity of activities. When the fruits of trees burn, they produce a kind of off-white gas with a sulphur smell, causing respiratory damage, blindness, blood poisoning, and chemical burns in animals that come into contact with it. This kind of gas can also induce combustion with non-flammable materials such as soil, rocks, glass, and concrete.

The wildfire lasts for 3 hours, causing the trees dead again. The carcasses of most animals decompose into black fibrous material after death, which is converted into water and carbon dioxide as they burn. Subsequently, the ecosystem within SCP-CN-2270 regresses to its normal appearance.

When the wildfire arrives, some animals abruptly become deadlocked, incapable to move, and start to breathe violently. The off-white gas moves quickly in the direction of this type of animal. After the skin and muscle tissue are burned, the gas dissipates, and a rainbow-colored crystal appears on the animal's bones, which continues to grow until it fills the original appearance of the animal.

After the wildfire ends, at sunset, the bodies of all crystalline animals shatter in a beam of the plasma light. Observations reveal that the remaining tissues also turn into crystalline materials. The fragments fade into the soil within seven minutes with the colored light particles on the ground.

There is heavy rain in the last hour before SCP-CN-2270-1 end. The scorched black debris from the mountains flows into the river with the rain.

Addendum I: The contents of photos and fragments stored in the box are obtained by scanning equipment.
