Description: SCP-CN-2879-1 through -9 are a set of information snapshots, which appear similar in format to Foundation descriptive documents; all such documents were created through the Lexiconnoisseurs project.

It is recommended that as many personnel with access to this documentation read and understand SCP-CN-2879-1 through -9. Understanding of the nature of the anomaly will help with the execution of Operation [DATA EXPUNGED]¹.

Special Containment Procedures: No further containment procedures are required². The object is classified to Level 5 clearance.

Description: SCP-CN-2879 is a large structure, externally similar to a strainer. SCP-CN-2879 was created by the Foundation to contain [REDACTED].

The interior of the object is black. Imprecise measurements have revealed that its area is ████████³. The object bears a large number of holes, which are positioned irregularly; their shapes and sizes are likewise irregular, and their number is difficult to measure. The holes move across the surface of the object according to a certain relative pattern⁴.

Special Containment Procedures: Undefined

Description: SCP-CN-2879 is a spatial anomaly affecting a hemispherical space. SCP-CN-2879 does not affect the properties of the space itself, but rather causes any light-emitting devices within its area of effect to fail. The light bulbs of the devices will typically not be damaged, but the filaments will slowly become a metal with similar physical properties but unknown chemical properties. SCP-CN-2879 can move through various areas on Earth; its speed is unknown, but its position is related to the orbital revolution of the Earth.

Devices that are affected by SCP-CN-2879's effects may be restored after leaving SCP-CN-2879's area of effect; however, no means of doing so have been found. The effects of the anomaly on devices is most prominent at the center of the hemisphere, and reduces in intensity with distance. At the time of writing, the radius of the anomaly has already reached 6███ km⁵.

Update ████-██-██: The Conceptual Engineering Department has discovered that nighttime navigation has been rendered impossible by the anomaly, and the Ennui Protocol must be enacted⁶

Secondary Coverup Procedures: SCP-CN-2879 cannot be contained. The Foundation has increased work outside of the Veil to contain this item, and will regularly release special scientific⁸ theory⁹ in order to cover up SCP-CN-2879.

Description: SCP-CN-2879 is the collective designation for a series of anomalous phenomena. Beginning on ████-██-██, scientific research personnel worldwide claimed that an unknown space outside the dome¹⁰ of the sky could be observed through their telescopes, within which exist various objects¹¹. The properties of these objects are currently unknown¹².

At the same time, large amounts of additional information, including but not limited to images, audio, and both print and digital documents, describing the objects and related science, was disseminated to the public via mass media. This is considered to be a loss of the Veil. After the Foundation's attempts to prevent the broadcasts failed, SCP-CN-2879 began to emerge within the Foundation. As such, the Foundation has abandoned traditional containment and have implemented secondary coverup procedures¹³, so as to allow SCP-CN-2879 to become part of normalcy.

Description: SCP-CN-2879 is an [unknown concept]. When any sapient, sentient organism discovers this information and thoroughly believes it, SCP-CN-2879 will cause the outer area in the human's subjective view to become black-and-white noise concentrated in a mass of black particles.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the effects of the anomaly, all nighttime navigation both behind and beyond the Veil are to be cancelled, and only relevant compiled cover stories are to be disseminated through Foundation mass media outlets, so as to prevent information leakage.

Description: SCP-CN-2879 is a strainer, with an area of 51█,███,███km². Its source is unknown.

The inside of the object is painted a solid black. Imprecise measurements have revealed that this is [REDACTED]. The positions of the holes on the strainer are not regular, and the shapes and sizes are all different. The holes can move, and their motion follows a certain relative pattern.

All contact with flying vehicles made by the specialized science was lost after leaving the orbital area, and it is estimated that these object exist in the outer area.

Special Containment Procedures: The object has already become a part of consensus reality. As such, no containment procedures are required.

Description (Archived): SCP-CN-2879 is the anomalous number of documents involving SCP-CN-2879-1 information exposed to the public in the form of images, audio, and both print and digital text. Personnel are to note that while it is impossible to determine using standard methods, the actual number of SCP-CN-2879 instances is about 4×10^█ times larger than the conservative estimate, and humanity is currently unable to create and maintain such a large number of documents with the current level of information technology.

Besides their number, SCP-CN-2879 instances do not appear to have any anomalous properties. Tracking of the people responsible for the creation of the instances revealed that all instances were created by people outside the Veil and thus unaware of the anomalous community; the content of SCP-CN-2879 does not contain anomalies with obvious effects or hidden mind-affecting properties.

SCP-CN-2879-1 is an anomalous field of science which is currently impossible to understand or use. Researchers have noticed that the anomaly uses the names of gods from Roman or Greek mythology to name various fictitoius entities, and assumes that these entities are spherical or otherwise round, indicating that the object is in some way related to geography. Knowledge of SCP-CN-2879-1 through SCP-CN-2879 will convince individuals that this knowledge is undeniably true and well accepted in the human scientific community; which has led to the full acceptance of SCP-CN-2879 by the general public. Further exposure to a variety of researchers indicates that the theories presented by the anomaly appear to be complete and self-consistent.

The only figure in SCP-CN-2879-1 known to have actually existed is the former pilot [DATA EXPUNGED], who ceased to exist of his own volition on 1969-7-21, 2:56(UTC).

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-CN-2879 has already become a part of consensus reality. As such, besides the regular dissemination of a cover story, no containment procedures are required.

Description: SCP-CN-2879-A/B are two mutually containing anomalies.

A visual signal created by SCP-CN-2879-A, discovered on 1959/10/7; image completed by the Conceptual Engineering Department¹⁹.

SCP-CN-2879-A is a consensus reality-psychology effect field²⁰ covering the entire Earth. Within this effect field, humans can quickly learn of a series of research theories and results that have no known use. Affected subjects use a specific set of names to refer to a certain type of entity that exists only at night²¹, typically using the names of Greek/Roman gods. The individual entities are all spherical or otherwise round.

On the surface of SCP-CN-2879-A are a small number of technological holes, which when recognized by a human during a specific time period²² will open up, leaking a visual signal that appears to be a dynamic image of spots²³; there are no other perceptual anomalies present.

SCP-CN-2879-A has continued to affect all humans and sapient entities since its manifestation; however, its nature has reached a state of self-containment, so no measures are to be taken at the present moment.

SCP-CN-2879-B is an anomalous phenomenon that occurred at an unknown time, covering the same area of effect as SCP-CN-2879-A²⁴, which may be a large-scale control implement²⁵. Recalling knowledge and concepts affected by SCP-CN-2879-B will perpetuate the effects of the object and may result in one of several effects:

• A CK-class "Reality Restructuring" scenario.
• The loss of knowledge of night.
• The perceived disappearance of various types of objects.
• The impossibility of nighttime navigation.
• The corruption of specialized science.

The knowledge conveyed by SCP-CN-2879-A can completely override the knowledge remembered by humans affected by SCP-CN-2879-B. Human subjects not affected by SCP-CN-2879-A would be aware of the existence of SCP-CN-2879-B and would need to be continuously observed²⁶.

By its very nature, the object may be beneficial to the Foundation and human civilization. As such, no further containment will be enacted.²⁷
