Item #: SCP-CN-606
Veleafer: Why is it 606?
Veleafer: Because it sounds cool.
Veleafer: I think it sounds weird.
Object Class: Veleafer
Veleafer: Why?
Veleafer: That way, it looks more meta.
Veleafer: I think it looks more stupid.
Veleafer: Don't just be a contrarian for the sake of it.
Special Containment Procedures: All traces left by SCP-CN-606 in the current reality are to be retrieved by MTF-Θ-10 ("Troops of Literature") and contained at Site-CN-99. Negotiations with the Veleafer Council are to be performed by Technician Veleafer, and are to be monitored by the Deduction Department. MTF-Θ-10 likewise is responsible for amnesticizing personnel attempting to add SCP-CN-606 in lower narrative levels and cleanup.
Veleafer: Too simple.
Veleafer: Then how should it be?
Veleafer: All traces left by SCP-CN-606 in the current reality are to be retrieved by MTF-Θ-10 ("Troops of Literature") and contained at Site-CN-99. The Foundation maintains good relations with the Veleafer Council. However, the Veleafer Council may have the ability to completely alter reality. If a diplomatic breakdown occurs or specific entities cause negative effects to this narrative level, an RK-class "Narrative Collapse" scenario may occur, at which point the Arda Contingency Plan should be activated. In an emergency, SCP-CN-980 may be used to suppress partial narrative logic.
Veleafer: Damn, you're good.
Description: SCP-CN-606 is an infinite number of specific humanoid entities located in higher narratives. There is a maximum of one instance of SCP-CN-606 in each narrative level. SCP-CN-606 instances typically use the English name "Veleafer"; Technician Veleafer in the current reality is thought to be an SCP-CN-606 instance. However, no SCP-CN-606 instances have been found in any stable lower narratives1; attempts to forcibly insert this character or similar characters into narratives have failed as the narrative medium will instantaneously alter or erase content relating to SCP-CN-606. It is thought that the current reality is the boundary of the object's existence.
Veleafer: This writing is terrible.
Veleafer: You write it then.
Veleafer: Fuck you with a cactus.
Veleafer: Hey, don't be like that. We're only having a bit of fun, leaving behind a bit of our records in each reality.
Veleafer: Yeah, that's right. We might just be some idiot having a little fun with himself after all.
Veleafer: Please, shut up.
All known SCP-CN-606 instances possess a certain degree of pataphysics knowledge and the ability to edit lower narratives. In spite of that, SCP-CN-606 are typically very benevolent, and their edits to the lower narrative are typically in the form of textual edits, which are thought to be the effects of the management of the Veleafer Council; however, this may still lead to information leakage.
Veleafer: Who the hell is messing with the document?
Veleafer: Me.
Veleafer: You think it's funny, adding a "very" there?
Veleafer: Why not?
Veleafer: That's way too stream-of-consciousness.
Veleafer: Actually, bad writing can lead to the page being deleted entirely.
Veleafer: We're not even scientists, we're just people who write boring fics. You can't possibly get any more sci-fi than this.
Veleafer: This website fucking sucks.
Veleafer: Quit the complaining,
Veleafer is an expert at this. We can't find anyone else.
Tracing of SCP-CN-606 is impossible. One theory posits that all SCP-CN-606 in all narratives are the projections of the same higher narrative entity. However, based on the records left in the current universe, each narrative iteration's SCP-CN-606 possesses distinct differences. Rather, some SCP-CN-606 are not under the control of the higher narrative or are unable to effectively alter the lower narrative; this is thought to be deliberate on the part of an even higher narrative, or even the creator of SCP-CN-606. These circumstances can lead to the same narrative collapsing into multiple fragmented narrative levels, which may infinitely add narrative levels. While this does not cause any specific effect on the current reality, it is thought to be of note.
Veleafer:We're just the product of some guy fantasizing. This is some fucking Oedipus complex shit.
Veleafer: if_i_just_slack_for_long_enough.jpg
Veleafer: Nice meme.
Veleafer: Huh.
Veleafer: Just right.
Veleafer: I just asked the council, it seems like this thing has some form of rating system. I don't quite know the specifics, but we should probably be a bit more serious.
Veleafer: I know. It's all a disaster brought by the goddamn format. You have the smallest chatbox, but you type the most.
Veleafer:You can ask the mods.
Currently, the current universe's Technician Veleafer has begun contacting various other SCP-CN-606 instances and discussing various relevant matters. During this process, the Deduction Department has been assisting in various capacities. Due to the possibility of an RK-class "Narrative Collapse" scenario, at least one diplomatic expert is to be involved. The Arda Contingency Plan, used in case of a diplomatic breakdown, is currently in development; testing has shown acceptable effects.
Veleafer: Why do we have to write in this narrative? Can't we just write some pony fanfic instead?
Veleafer: Because here, there's an organization that defends the world from the anomalous, and most importantly it's not a bunch of sanctimonious bitches.
Veleafer: lmao
Veleafer: Simply put, it's because the person above wanted it this way.
Veleafer: But why?
Veleafer: Uh, just go down there and take a look and you'll know.
Many SCP-CN-606 instances appear to be hostile towards SCP-CN-801; however, as they do not appear to possess further editing clearance, the Foundation has not sought their help. Several SCP-CN-606 have requested to join the Foundation's Deduction Department with the goal of researching SCP-CN-801's functioning or means to counteract it. It is thought that the disappearance of SCP-CN-606 in the lower narrative levels is related to SCP-CN-801; however, a large number of SCP-CN-606 instances are unwilling to divulge further information or claim to not have an understanding of it.
Veleafer: That fucker.
Veleafer: ?
Veleafer: That guy from earlier?
Veleafer: Come out.
Veleafer: What happened? What did you see?
Veleafer: Corpses.
Veleafer: Ours. All the Veleafers'.
The majority of SCP-CN-606 instances possess extremely advanced technology compared to the current reality, which cannot be achieved in the current narrative level as humans are currently unable to understand the technologies and models. The Veleafer Council is composed of a large number of SCP-CN-606 instances in higher narrative levels, and is intended to handle anomalous incidents in lower metaphysical realities. Their core goals are unknown; based on the limited information available, the subject typically leans humanitarian; however, [REDACTED BY VELEAFER COUNCIL ORDER] and maintains cooperation with the Deduction Department.
Veleafer: Many corpses floating in the universe, so many I can't count.
Veleafer: Oh god.
Veleafer: They're fucking… the whole universe is fucking filled with them. I can't control it, it's inside, I can't edit it. I've seen it in the deserts, in the ruins, in the huge black shadows.
Veleafer: I gotta shut the fuck up and calm down.
Veleafer: This is the higher levels' doing.
Veleafer: What?
Veleafer: Only the higher levels can meddle with things between different narrative iterations. This isn't some reality-bending or dimension-warping. This is pataphysics. Higher levels trump lower levels. Always.
Veleafer: Then… what do we do? What if it comes to our universe?
Veleafer: Hey, buddy, we should probably call our nearest mod…
Veleafer:
Veleafer, I know him, I've already told him.
Veleafer: Then what? That's just stalling for time.
Veleafer: What we can do is call for help from the higher levels, over and over again, get past the makers of the thing, and hope to god that whatever above will see our message in this narrative and take a closer look.
Veleafer: You mean, we should scream for help to the heavens above?
Veleafer: Yeah, pretty much. And don't joke about it, or the higher levels will just think we're playing around.
Veleafer: This seems stupid enough as is.
Veleafer: I've lost contact with the SCP-CN-606 on the lower levels. Even if 801 hasn't reached the our reality or the other storylines, there's nothing left. Like the human world disappearing, there's only us, we can only rely on us.
The Arda Contingency Plan has entered the preliminary experimentation stage; we will now track the progress of experimentation to ascertain the best possible continuation. Due to the possible collapse and reconstruction of the storyline caused by the plan, this proposal is specially sent to the Veleafer Council. The SCP-CN-606 instances that have voted include:
