This kid, Víctor, he was a good kid, a good lad, he wasn't a bad person and he didn't deserve what happened to him. True, he used to sneak out of school and go smoke weed. Who hasn't done that at some point? And even though I'm not a supporter of marijuana, its legalization and all that (personally I think that those who say that marijuana isn't addictive should be locked up in psychiatric hospitals, and the key thrown away), that wasn't a reason for him to disappear just like that.
Many things were said about him afterwards, about him and his family. They said that they were involved in drug dealing, that he was a drug addict, that he was selling drugs at his school, that his father was in jail… Pure nonsense, that's because the police had no idea where to point, and they pointed everywhere, they even suspected his older brother, they arrested him and interrogated him too many times. Once they even assaulted him by throwing a beer can at his head.
Anyway, that day Víctor went alone to Borges Park. His best friend was grounded with no cell phone and his other friend, Linda, or Lynda, I think, didn't go to school because she was feeling sick. So he went alone, and something happened, he contacted his friend Jorge by WhatsApp, but he couldn't answer him for obvious reasons, it was only three days later when, his parents gave him back his cell phone, that he found out about his friend's messages.

Yeah, I remember very well that case, everybody in Iquique was a kind of shocked, because we used to have bad experiences with the disappearance of people. There were a lot of rumors, a lot of cretins who spoke without having any idea. The police said that possibly - possibly - it was a case of a runaway, 'cause it was the easiest answer they had, and the one that required the least amount of work.

A cousin of mine works in the parquet office in Iquique, he told me about this case, and about some phone calls, I'm going to talk to him to find out if he knows anything else about it.

Well, here is a copy of the WhatsApp messages that Víctor sent. His cell phone was seized by the police and was never returned to him. I can't say how I got this, it's from someone somewhat close to the family, and this is still painful for them:

I talked to my cousin in Iquique, he said he was going to check the case files, and he remembered the WhatsApp messages. He also said that there were no "screenshots" because those things aren't allowed in a court file, only transcripts.
He also told me that there was a call, just one, to the kid's house, and they confirmed that it was made from his cell phone. His mother answered it, and she says that the only thing she heard was someone crying, whimpering rather, something very overwhelmed and desperate, and that she heard only one sentence, before the call ended.
