IT Branch Mobile Task Forces

ITALIAN MOBILE TASK FORCES

Mobile Task Forces (MTFs) are elite units comprised of personnel drawn from across the Foundation and are mobilized to deal with specific threats or situations that sometimes exceed the operational capacity or expertise of regular field personnel and — as their name suggests — may be relocated between facilities or locations as they are needed. Mobile Task Force personnel represent the "best of the best" of the Foundation.

While in the field, task force members often pose as emergency responders, local or federal law enforcement, or military personnel appropriate to the region in which they are operating. Mobile Task Force Captains can also request the assistance of local field units or personnel stationed at nearby Foundation facilities in order to accomplish their missions.

The Italian Branch of the Foundation employs three types of task forces:

  • The SSM Squads, standard Mobile Task Forces1;
  • The SIR Squads, for undercover, espionage and investigation operations2;
  • The SPeV Squads, for surveillance and protection of sites and personnel3.

SSM-I "Sagitta Iovis"


Description: The only SSM allowed to use anomalous objects or entities in action. When other SSMs need to use anomalous equipment, they have to work in cooperation with SSM-I.

Description: Squad that takes care of giving medical support and first aid during / after raids or breaches in containment. It also deals with hiding such events in the eyes of civilians.

SIR-IV "Missio Mercurii"


Description: Squad specialised in temporary containment during transport of anomalies requiring special containment procedures. Each site has a SIR-IV team to facilitate the transport time of the entities; each SIR-IV team has at least two modular MTV/V.02 4x4 vehicles available to be modified and adapted as necessary.
