Item #: SCP-065-FR
Threat Level: Green ●
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-065-FR is to be kept in the centre of a secure industrial container equipped with a tripod camera facing the object, in addition to the standard conscious humanoid entity facilities. The container must be monitored at all times by at least one (1) security personnel. The five cameras must film the object for one (1) hour every 24 hours. The current schedule is 14:00 to 15:00. All rushes must be saved on an external hard drive encrypted to the SCPsfe01 standard and kept under lock and key in an armoured locker in the Site's archives. Only the Director of the current Containment Site, the Director of the Research Department of the same Site, and the research team working on the object will have authorisation to access the video rushes.
Attempts to interact with the object must only be made during authorised recording times, unless special dispensation is granted by the Director of Research.
Description: SCP-065-FR is a 1:1 scale sculpture of a female human measuring 1.10 m and weighing 90 kg. The subject is crudely depicted and the marks left by the sculptor's tools are still visible. Tests carried out on the material composition of the object indicates that it was made from a mixture of clay and solidified clay, as well as carved ivory for certain parts of the body (i.e. upper part of the face, bust, hands, right thigh, feet).
X-rays of the artefact showed the presence of a small object embedded in the clay at mouth level. Further tests to determine the nature of this object are currently pending approval from the Research Director of Site ██.
When observed on a video recording, or through a live video feed, SCP-065-FR does not appear in its known form but as a young girl similar in features to the subject of SCP-065-FR, whose age is estimated at 11-12 years. This image of the artefact is referred to in this report as SCP-065-FR-1. SCP-065-FR-1's body bears the marks of poor hygiene and self-mutilation.
SCP-065-FR-1, when observed in the above-mentioned conditions, is not inert like SCP-065-FR but behaves like a living, free to move human being. It can be observed moving around, observing its environment and interacting with it. The environment in question is always that which was filmed with SCP-065-FR, in the state in which it was when it was filmed. Any changes SCP-065-FR-1 makes to its environment in the recording have no impact on reality. In addition, the entity seems unable to leave the frame of the captured image.
NOTE: This effect only affects video recordings, or live observation through a video stream. The effect also affects photographs of SCP-065-FR, but these are of little use as SCP-065-FR-1 is frozen.
If the object is observed live by a video stream and a subject enters its environment, SCP-065-FR-1 can perceive the subject and respond to stimuli emitted by the subject. However, the reverse is not possible. It was concluded that SCP-065-FR-1 only perceives in reality what is present in the frame of the image at the time it is captured.
Several attempts were made to establish communication with the object, by placing a message (written or pre-recorded) in its immediate environment before recording. However, no constructed response could be obtained from SCP-065-FR-1, as it paid little or no attention to the message.
When it is captured, SCP-065-FR-1 spends most of its time sitting motionless on the furniture in its immediate vicinity, or moving about with no apparent purpose. The entity sometimes emits vocalisations that are mostly inarticulate and incomprehensible, although snatches of human language have been recognised. The most frequently recurring words refer to an indeterminate father figure, and are spoken in French. Dr. Flores suggested introducing drawing tools into SCP-065-FR-1's environment to encourage her to express herself. His request was approved and chalk was used. SCP-065-FR-1 has since shown herself to be able to write at a beginner's level, inscribing words on the walls of her cell in a similar register to those she expresses orally, and to draw, usually depicting humanoid figures, furniture, and in all cases a solid rectangular shape present in the scene.

Document A-065-1: History of the object
SCP-065-FR was discovered on ██/██/████ in the cellar of ████, █████ ██ ██ █████████, in █████████, France, by Field Agents undercover in the French National Police, following the discovery at this address of the corpse of ███████ ████████, an amateur visual artist. The individual appears to have died in his studio from the combined effects of severe dehydration and hydrargyria, probably caused by exposure to paints containing mercury. A note painted on a table shortly before his death described the statue as "his daughter". Its anomalous properties were revealed when it was photographed by the police during the seizure of exhibits. The object was recovered by the Agents and amnestics were administered to the investigators involved.
Tests were carried out and confirmed the existence of these properties. The item was catalogued in the SCP database and contained in Site Aleph.
The investigation opened by the French National Police to determine the origin of the ivory used in the manufacture of SCP-065-FR has been closed.
