VIDEO LOG
<Begin Log>
SCP-2670-JP is sitting in a chair in the interrogation room, looking down. It abruptly raises its head and looks around.
SCP-2670-JP: …Huh? Hey, wha-
Suddenly, a huge earthworm-like entity manifests on the chair opposite SCP-2670-JP.
Worm-like entity: Greetings, Edward Ackerman. My name is Warm Worm. Nice to meet you.
Silence.
Warm Worm: Nice to meet you.
SCP-2670-JP: …Wh- what are you?
Warm Worm: Oh? I thought Rickwood explained it to you.
SCP-2670-JP: John? No, John didn't even… I mean, what the hell is going on here?
Warm Worm: What, he didn't explain anything? Good grief, I'd hate to be left to handle all the business…
Warm Worm lightly taps the desk with his tentacles; what looks like a holographic screen appears in front of SCP-2670-JP, causing it to recoil.
SCP-2670-JP: Whoa!
Warm Worm: Edward Ackerman. Welcome to our Foundation Collective.
Silence.
SCP-2670-JP: Excuse me?
Warm Worm: Foundation Collective. In a nutshell, it's another Foundation operating in dreams. You should be honored, since you have been selected to join its personnel.
SCP-2670-JP: No, I mean, what? Did you say the Foundation in dreams?
Warm Worm: Yes, the Foundation in dreams. Just as there are many anomalies in reality, there are plenty of them in dreams as well. Our mission at the Foun… FC is to secure, contain, and protect them. You also are one of those oneiric anomalies.
SCP-2670-JP: What do you mean oneiric… wait a minute, I'm an anomaly?
Warm Worm: Yes. You are categorized as a dream entity in our terms. Normally, humans obtain their own avatars, known as Oneiroi, and construct multiple dream entities in their own dreamspace without being aware of it. Then, they participate in theatrical performances by these dream entities… However, dream entities usually do not have a decent self-awareness. In spite of this, you have not only well-established sentience, but even the Class 2 equivalent ability to alter other dream entities. These are anomalous properties that would normally be sufficient to be contained by the FC.
SCP-2670-JP: Seriously? But then… why was I picked to be a personnel of it?
Warm Worm: That's simple. The head of Psychology personally recommended you.
SCP-2670-JP: What?
Warm Worm: You know him quite well. After all, you originated from his dreamspace.
Silence.
SCP-2670-JP: …Hey, you don't say…
Warm Worm: John Rickwood. Born May 18, 1941, now 75 years old. He is currently the director of the Department of Psychology.
SCP-2670-JP: …You're kidding me.
Warm Worm: The Department of Psychology is deeply involved in the study and containment of dream-related anomalies in reality. As such, it has significant connections to the FC. Even though he is not an FC personnel, we still have to welcome you since you have been officially nominated by the director of Psychology.
Silence.
SCP-2670-JP laughs.
SCP-2670-JP: Oh my God! He's in a much higher position than me now!
SCP-2670-JP continues to laugh. Warm Worm taps the desk again, and the holographic screen comes closer to SCP-2670-JP.
Warm Worm: Now, don't just keep laughing. Read this contract carefully and then…
Before Warm Worm can finish, SCP-2670-JP signs its name on the screen with its finger.
Warm Worm: …That was quick. It saved me a lot of bother, though.
SCP-2670-JP: Of course it was quick. I can work with my best friend again, how could I say no? Plus, I've already made a promise.
Warm Worm tilts his head.
SCP-2670-JP: Oh, nothing. It's our side of the story. Anyway, I'm now looking forward to working with you. Uh….
Warm Worm: Warm Worm.
SCP-2670-JP: Oh, right. Nice to meet you, Mr. Warm Worm.
SCP-2670-JP laughs.
